My previous post was swallowed, so here is the summary:

You should be able to have a purse or a coin bag. You don't need to though. Coins go fine in a wallet, mine can hold enough coins to weigh me down and make several rolls whenever I decide to empty it. And as for purses, messenger bags are great, more practical than backpacks because you don't have to take them off to take something from them, and I would say they're more suited for men because the strap would dig into most men's boobs less.
And also, cargo pants. Not great for loose change, but my pants regularly carry a 3DS, a big wallet, a cellphone, a mp3 player, a charger, a notebook with pen and even a water bottle. I can't imagine needing much more room than that, and of course if it isn't summer, you also get pockets on your jacket as well.

But if you want your friends to leave you alone wit this (and let's face it they're your friends, they'll just find something else to make fun of you for), get a dice bag that has Cthulhu on it or something else that's generally not associated with old ladies.

You should be able to wear whatever you want OP, but be aware that you will never stop people from giving you shit for any little thing that they notice. If you have that much change, have you considered any of these things?

I'm pretty sure that they're all keychains, too.

but srsly.. its not feminine to use a coin a purse its primitive. old ladies dont know what a visa or a nfc capable smart phone are so they use their outdated coins. us 21st century youngfolk however do and so arent shackled by their time wasting money transfer systems

tho the fact that your the kind of person who pays for things with coins means you should be mocked, regardless of how feminine your coin transportation device is

Actually those are very close to what I have, I just felt like making an over dramatic thread because about three friends had playfully teased me about it and I was really bored

I would probably laugh at you. Not because it's "feminine" but because it just sounds so impractical. Why would you want a seperate, fiddly little pouch in which to put coins when you can just get yourself a wallet with a bigger coin pocket?

The reason women wearing men's clothes/accessories is acceptable, while men wearing women's clothes/accessories is stigmatised, is because no one in their right fucking mind would choose to go through the shit that women only do because they are practically indoctrinated into doing it. There's no reason to wear dresses, make up, handbags or use purses unless it's already demanded of you.

Although back when I worked at a check-out I met a guy who carried his coins around in an old sock. I thought that was epic. For all intents and purposes it functioned as a coin purse but I doubt anyone laughed at him for acting like a granny. I was seriously impressed. I thought "This here is a man who does not give a fuck".

Who uses coins anymore?
I pay for everything in cash apart from internet purchases.
You, sir, are part of a vanishing breed in an age of widespread electronic currency transactions...
Probably true, but I have no intention of ever using electronic payment in person. I dislike having my movements tracked and will do everything I can to make it awkward for people to do so. I also like the idea of paying for a car (or house or other expensive item) with an attache case full of £10 notes, like this:

I take offense at this comment. I only pay for things with cash (excluding online purchases) and have no intention of ever changing that policy. See my above post for the reasons.

I've wondered before why men prefer to keep all their change in their pockets, rather than putting them in something. I guess they have bigger (and more) pockets than we do.

Like pretty much every woman I know, I have a purse that holds notes, cards and coins. (Note: Here in the UK, a "purse" is a small thing that holds money and that you put inside your handbag.)

Pretty much every guy I know carries a wallet (which only takes notes and cards) and just empties out their pockets of spare change every evening. My boyfriend has accumulated so many coins that the entire collection is literally too heavy for me to lift.

I live in an American town where many businesses refuse electronic payments under a certain dollar value. There are even bars that refuse to let patrons pay with cards on special event nights. Further add to that the fact that most people here have to use coin laundry machines, which means quarters CANNOT be lost- they're worth their weight in detergent or something.

I know making fun of people who live a slightly different lifestyle can be a good way to imagine yourself as superior, but come on, think outside the box a little.
so everyone in your town goes to the bar with a handful of coins? o_O how is that not hilarious? xD some big macho guy pouring out his change on to the counter so he can slowly count everything out or rummaging through his little coin purse to get out the exact change
Also when i use the laundromat i get change from them, and then they get the change back from the machines.. it would seem silly to walk around with quarters when you know full well the laundromat already has enough quarters.

and its not that i imagine myself as superior; its that i know electronic technology is superior. also how is using a 3 thousand year old money transfer system (1200-ish for paper) thinking outside the box? it seems more like being terrified of leaving the box

I say that you should just insult the manliness of those that question you.
Or hit them with the purse so hard they die and are forced to admit that your purse does some very manly damage.
Or dress in drag and own it?

I'm running out of ideas but I support pretty much any fashion and or convenience choices anyone makes really.

I always thought messenger bags were just big versions of long-strapped purses and I see men and women with those. Who cares? It's just a bag to keep your stuff in. Then again, I don't even use a purse and I'm a woman. I have them though. I have them because the other women in my family keep thinking that if they just gift me the right one, I'll suddenly love purses and use them. Poor fools,...eh, it's their money and the gifts are a nice gesture; I just don't want any more of the damn things. >_>

No, try reading what I wrote. Preferably without injecting "unnecessarily smug" into the response.

Also when i use the laundromat i get change from them, and then they get the change back from the machines.. it would seem silly to walk around with quarters when you know full well the laundromat already has enough quarters.
Not all laundromats (especially laundromats in apartment complexes) have change machines, you know.
They pay with paper money? As in not coins. As in how was what you said relevant in anyway to me ripping on coins?

and you get a roll of quarters and leave it in the apartment.. either way way making walking around with quarters silly

and why do you get to make condescending remarks but i dont get to make smug remarks? this seems like a very uneven playing field :(

As far as the cash vs plastic argument goes (not going to bother quoting everyone who's mentioned it)

-Not all businesses accept debit/credit

-Most banks charge transaction fees for using debit (where I'm from anyway)

-Although it's easy to go online and see where my money is going on my bank's website, it's also quite easy to loose track of how much money I've spent while I'm out; taking out cash ensures that I don't absent-mindedly overspend. (it's like a self-imposed allowance)

-I just prefer exchanging tangible, physical money to electronic money.

-It's easier to use vending machines if I want to

-It's much easier to give tips with cash (I'm generous like that)

-It's impossible to lend a friend a few bucks for bus fare (or something) with plastic (again, I'm generous like that)

-I like the jingling noise coins make : D

And for the "get a wallet with a coin compartment" argument

-The wallets in stores I've been to have small coin compartments, I haven't seen one with a sufficiently sized coin compartment yet.

-I'm Canadian, I don't have $1 bills, but "loonies" and "toonies", so I have more coins than you American commenters

-Wallets tend to get pretty bulky when they contain coins, it's easier to have them in a separate pouch I find.

-The nice looking leather wallets (the ones I prefer because they look better and I find they're more durable than other wallets) tend to not have coin compartments.

-I can get a coin pouch for just over a dollar (yay for dollar stores), so it's better for me to just get one of those than it is for me to replace my entire wallet (a fairly good looking leather one)

btw, nice to see you back Katori

I used a shoulder bag throughout my Middle, High, and most of my college years as a bookbag.

Not once have I been branded something negative for it. Although, being big, somewhat imposing, having a bad reputation in middle school, and having connections doesn't hurt.

Yes we do and it is not particularly funny, just how things are done.

and its not that i imagine myself as superior; its that i know electronic technology is superior. also how is using a 3 thousand year old money transfer system (1200-ish for paper) thinking outside the box? it seems more like being terrified of leaving the box
I don't get this idea of "the way I do things is best and I will mock anyone who does anything different", it just seams unnecessarily obnoxious to me. I will continue to do things the way I prefer with no regard for what you think of it.

Isn't that essentially what a satchel is? A "man purse" if you will. Also, I use those little rubber coin holders sometimes if I need to hold a lot of change.
