It's a matter of local culture UNFORTUNATELY. I find it very stylish depending on the purse. I got one but can't use it here in Brazil, if I do I'm seen as either one of those pain-in-the-ass alternative types or a homosexual (nothing against GLS community, but I'm not gay and I don't think anyone likes to be seen and eventually judged for whom they are not). But hell, those purses are very useful. I also enjoy those "cowboy" hats, and paid good money on a Harley Davidson one, no problem wearing it on the USA (California to be more precise) but God forbid i use it here in Brazil, people will either laugh or think I'm a fan of "boiadeiros" and "sertanejo" and other stuff I REALLY DO DESPISE.
Someone mentioned Japan in the forums, I really look forward to visit Japan. From what I see, it's a country that managed to keep its unique identity while embracing globalization (as in a mix of other cultures)into its fold.
