seeing how most (if not all) mavies based on videogames sucked, some to the point of insulting gamers I am grateful about this game not being made into a movie.

MGS is already a movie with short game-play intervals. It'd be kinda hard to mess that up. Then again, they've yet to make a decent game movie soooo...

MGS is not really appropriate for a movie. It's better suited to a series or mini-series. And an animated or CG series at that or else they'd blow all their cash on the set design or simply blue screen it.
Like final fantasy. Oh wait.

There already is a movie for MGS. The only problem is some idiot intertwined it with the game so that we'd be forced to watch his "opus".

OT: I'm kind of glad it isn't going to be made. Even if it was, one would expect Hideo Kojima to be involved in everything from directing, to writing, to producing, to applying gaffers tape, just so he could make the movie as true to the game as he could.

And let's face it, it could never be as bad as the Super [This movie never happened] Brothers movie.
Megadeth made a song for that movie's soundtrack so yes it did happen. I have the extremely damaged video tape to prove it.

Didn't we already have MGS4?
damn ninjas. They're everywhere these days!

There is no need or market for a MGS movie. It would be too long, have too much backstory to cover, and would be too similar to the G.I. Joe movie.

You may or not be aware but it was in the planning to make a Metal Gear Solid film. However(by the grace of god) it has been scrapped.
What is strange it's not because the producer dropped out or a writer being thrown into prison but cos Konami dosn't want it.

What's your opinion?
Are you glad there not makin' it?

well you didnt add a "Meh. i could go either way" section to your voting part.... cuz thats what i would have voted for. i wouldnt go see the movie in theaters, probably a waste of money, id just wait till it came out on HBO or somethin and watch it there

although you have to wonder...who would play the badass we all know and love? :D

Meh. It would be interesting to see an MGS adaptation, but I'd honestly be more satisfied with a TV series than a movie. For one thing, you'd have to make one hell of a butcher job to condense all the material into a two-hour slot. Mind you, we have recently had long "genre" films which used their time effectively to convey a story (Dark Knight, Watchmen and Avatar come to mind) This is of course assuming that the movie was going to be based on the first game.
And hell, it's not like video game movies are inherently bad. They just have a track record of being handled incompetenly.

Btw, for the sake of grammar Naziism, "yes, it would have sucked."

Love Metal Gear, but I'm not so hot in the idea of a movie... I mean, no one could play Solid Snake well enough to satisfy me.

My logical side says "YAY it would've been crap!" and then...my other side (whatever that would be) is a little disappointed just because it's something new that's MGS. Oh well. It's for the better. It's better to play the games anyways. xD

Something tells me that the stories would get really messed up. They'd either try to fit too much in or not enough story.

I don't think it would have worked out very well on the big screen, but I guess a part of me would have liked to see what they made of it. Imagine how awesome metal gear could have looked with Michael Bay in charge though. And Naomi could have run from explosions in low cut tops too. -_-

NO! My mind rejects it!
