this is highly true.

I'm thinking about making a hall of justice on one side of the street, then moving over to a hall of doom out in the water =P

normally i don't care for sandbox games..but this one has me by the nuts and refuses to let go

I think a bigger developer will come along and make something extremely similar soon though to capitalise on the time it is taking Notch to fix the issues in beta/finish beta.

So the Time:Fun ration was in favour of Team Fortress :3

Sandboxes are pretty bad for instant gratification. It's the building of the thing that's meant to be the most fun rather than the effect you get from the end product. :S If it was based on Time to fun ratios, the only games that people would like would be FPS's

Or left because of the time being taken to finish/fix the bugs that can render the game unplayable online for days at a time.

I would be genuinely suprised if a shiny, polished and finished game that is essentially the same as minecraft isnt released at the end of this year by an established company by the latest

It's in Beta. Many people bought it in Alpha. No reasonable people are expecting it to work really well right now.
