Oh I totally agree but the game has had phases where it has been physically unable to play due to forced updates, ie instant crashing, memory leaks etc etclacktheknack said:It's in Beta. Many people bought it in Alpha. No reasonable people are expecting it to work really well right now.lostzombies.com said:Or left because of the time being taken to finish/fix the bugs that can render the game unplayable online for days at a time.lacktheknack said:It's too late, everyone who's interested already has Minecraft.lostzombies.com said:Excellent game/half game.
I think a bigger developer will come along and make something extremely similar soon though to capitalise on the time it is taking Notch to fix the issues in beta/finish beta.
Goooooooooo capitalism!
I would be genuinely suprised if a shiny, polished and finished game that is essentially the same as minecraft isnt released at the end of this year by an established company by the latest
I dont have a problem with small and medium bugs, its what testing a game is all about, but I think Notch alienated a lot of fans with the way he handled updates. eg releasing a completely untested compulsory update on a friday which instantly broke online for everyone, then going home for the weekend. Then adding cake into the game instead of fixing chunk errors and then leaving for two weeks.
I love the game but have seen so many people leave in frustration and have felt it to a large degree too.
I just can't see a big developer missing the opportunity to make essentially a polished and finished version of the game and taking the momentum from Notch.
