The game is charming and all, I see how good, but I don't get in to it, it's not a game for me.

Creations are cool, until you realize there's no one to show them to.

What I really like is survival, but after the first night you're set.

There is MP, you know.

Minecraft scratches that creative itch I get now and again. Other than that it sort of collects dust on my HDD. Don't get me wrong, it's a cool game, just doesn't grab my attention for long.

Built a small cave house and haven't played since as it's too much of a hassle to start on a new world, nearly impossible to get the required materials/space for a super-project without spending hours digging randomly and I have a bug which means nothing whatsoever spawns in my world other than via spawners.

Good for a quick play but not worth playing more than a few minutes and not worthy of the worship it gets.

Excellent game/half game.

I think a bigger developer will come along and make something extremely similar soon though to capitalise on the time it is taking Notch to fix the issues in beta/finish beta.

Sounds like a really wierd bug then, I'm assuming you've tried reinstalling it?

I was really addicted to it when I first got it, but after about 3 weeks of constantly playing I lost interest.

Recently, I started playing again, and I'm enjoying myself, but I'm not as addicted.

I love it but I use it like a filler game. I'm playing Dead Space 2 right now. When I finish I'll play Minecraft until I pick up something new. I'll play that, then repeat the cycle. Minecraft is my in-between game.

For some reason, even though I love the game, I don't play it anymore. It's really cool but I'm just not feeling it lately.

Same. Sometimes I'll play it for long periods of time, then I'll put it down for a few weeks. I still love it to death though, it's a great game.

Do you happen to have the game set to "Peaceful Mode"? If so, you won't see any monsters and the spawn traps won't function either.
