Environmentalist on the surface, industrialist underground. Then again, I accidentally started a forest fire two days into the game and now my entire island is chock-full of burning stumps, often levitating above ground.

It fits well with my giant doom fortress though.
Pretty much. Leave it untouched on the surface, create a vast city underground. Well.. A smallish city.. More a hut.. I get distracted waaaaaaaay too easily.

Last time it was all environmentalist. I'm a hippy stuck in an industrialist and both sides want control. I feel conflicted.. lol

I get what i need and lots of times more. I don't really care if i'm destroying the scenic wilderness because I can create my own view. I try to keep my area tidy but eventually i get lost in my own tunnels and end up digging strait up praying I'm not under a beach.

Nice thread. I'm definitely an environmentalist, building my main base inside a cave, only digging to get to deeper resources and taking what I need. I did replace a corner of the mountain with glass to make it awesome, but it's not too big and on the whole a relatively minor thing.

Though in that world I took a boat and set sail as far as I could, so I'm now a long way from home.

Mix.

I only kill passive animals if I need their resources, but woe be to all hostile mobs. I cut down lots of trees, but I do plant a few new ones every so often in order to maintain a steady stream of wood. I tend to build above-ground on open patches, but I'll plunder a mountain's resources dry to make my structures.

I just created a cavern using TNT that is so large you can't see the other side. You have one guess as to which side I am on ;3.
