You're probably just in the minority on this site. I'm pretty sure that MW3 sales numbers are going to run circles around BF3's. Which is a shame, because I also think that BF3 looks like it will be better than MW3.

I actually think MW3 will be amazing because Trearch aren't making the game. But i also love BF3 in its detail, all in all i think both games will be amazing, but im going to get BF3.

Personally I think Modern Warfare Three is going to be a much more fulfilling experience than Battlefield Three, mainly due to the story which will finally see its conclusion.

While the MW story is just just just terrible, I am looking forward to shanking people again as the SAS.

Whether or not I get it, though, will largely come down to whether or not it allows more than one player to play online on the same Xbox at the same time, like Halo or BlOps did. Given that Battlefield has no history of doing this, I'm pr. much not going to get it, but there's a decent chance I'll end up with MW3.

Modern Warfare for the singleplayer, Battlefield 3 for the multiplayer.

Honestly, they're 2 shooters that, while looking the same, really have 2 completely different gameplay styles. It makes no sense pitting one against the other, I just hope I can enjoy both.

I agree. Call of Duty is very run and gun heavy. Battlefield is all about large battles.

OT: we've seen next to nothing from both games. I don't think it's fair to make this call yet.

Even though EA are planning on advertising it that way. Modern Warfare and Battlefield 3 are not comparable multiplayer, they are two very different experiences.

Also, if you're playing Battlefield for its single player...you're doing it wrong.

I am a battlefield person and I will buy BF3 anyhow. Especially as it looks stunning in many ways.

But I only want MW3 because of the singleplayer in CoD4 and CoD6.
I really love CoD4, even its multiplayer but the singleplayer was the best.
CoD6, well, it just did several things wrong which made me cringe. But the singleplayer, while over the top in many ways, was still very good and I enjoyed that.

I guess that MW3 will also be over the top but at least I will know the end of a great story.
While with BF3, it will just blow my mind.

Battlefield 3 has the benefit of not having a past story to go on, where as Modern Warfare 3 has to follow on from the mess that was MW2's story.

And to be fair, if both these games don't sell huge and as well as each other I'll be pretty surprised. I'll be getting both at least xD

For the love of god, you're asking the escapist which do you think is better? The "Filth" which has been dragging down FPS'S along with halo, or the one last FPS which is fighting medioricty. The overwhelming view will be Cod is bad, Battlefield is good. I personally think the two games are only similar in terms of their genre, and are very different. More to the point, how can you compare two things which aren't even out? No neutral option means grumpy hybrid.

Besides neither will hold a candle to Off the record and Gears. At least I know Gears is an option now, since they've fixed the overwhelming lag.

My guess -

MW3 - Great single player but over quickly. Interesting other mode (spec ops/horde) and decent multiplayer with odd overpowered weapon. Odd map pack released.

B3 - Average single player with better multiplayer, with a rather heavy emphasis on snipers and longe range combat. Some map pack type add ons released, but probably at better value than MW3.

Personally I've already got plenty of multiplayer shooters, so i'll try and rent MW3 for its single player, ignore B3 unless its exceptional and get Skyrim to pass the time instead.

Battlefield 3 will be better in every single way (Maybe singleplayer, but who gives a flying fuck about those in a game like these). It isn't like MW3 will bring anything to the table you haven't seen before.

Just like Arma III will be better than BF3 in a lot of ways.
