I thought the campaign in Bad Company 2 was pretty good, short, but worth playing through. I haven't played a COD campaign since COD4, for me it's just too heavily scripted. For multiplayer it has to be BF3 though, I still play BF2, and I know there are thousands of BF stalwarts just aching for a new BF game. There's no point having an awesome FPS game experience if you end up playing with retards and pre-teens every time.

Farcry3 looks pretty sweet as well, has that atmosphere to it, like you can run and gun, or take your time and be tactical. I really enjoyed FC2's multiplayer and campaign - if it has a level editor, then I think it could really take off and be a competitor for BF3 and MW3. There's something about having unlimited, inventive maps to play on - made by fans for fans. I mean, even LBP is put to shame by the inventiveness in some of those FC2 maps.

MW3 isn't useing a new engine.
It's engine is getting old and even though it's a great game it'll be just more of the same of MW2. There are some tweeks like the perks which makes it a bit more balanced but still...
BF3 got a brand new engine (Frostbite 2.0) and when it comes to the engine itself, i would say that the one in BF:BC2 was better than MW3.
Problem with this thread? Their completely different...

I'm not going to buy either because Skyrim will be far superior. I think MW3 will sell more than Battlefield 3 but I can't say which will be better.
Hahahaa totally man, Skyrim makes me orgasm just thinking about that... I'd see my doctor but i dnt think saying 'Hey i jizz when I think of hairy men fighting dragons' would go down too well...

Um... No.
I bought MW2, but couldn't play if online, cause Activision hates Russia (gee you think?). So I sold it later
So I bought bad Company 2 instead. And oh my god was the multiplayer awesome.
When I bought Black Ops and finally did get to play the multiplayer... it didn't hold up to the experience I had in Battlefield. I'll admit the games are pretty different, so this maybe a taste thing.

But I've made a firm decision on which series I'm supporting.

I myself think that sales for MW3 will be massive, I read somewhere that 2 million people have signed up for the Beta. I however find MW2 and indeed Black Ops to be far less enjoyable without interaction with others. For example, on Battlefield, I tend to have more fun wheter or not I have a friend playing with me, however for Black Ops and MW2, I barely have fun even with a friend online. (Black Ops to me is worse, the only thing that saved it relatively for me was zombies WITH friends.)

Many people categorise them as the same whereas true gamers could tell you they are worlds apart. I myself am looking forward to many games included these two, but if my Brother has anything to do with it, we will have Modern Warfare 3 first. I think that there won't be too much change for MW3 compared to MW2, but it will hopefully be an improvement.

The options reminded me of the final question on the G.O.A.T.

Honestly, Call of Duty: Elite. That's all I have to say.

Nah, Battlefield won't be an epic experience of Jesus proportions.

If you believed the Halo 3 hype, apparently that was it. Fuck Halo 3. I hate that game so much. Never has a Halo game done so little to advance the series and attempt to warrant full price.

Also, Modern Warfare 3 is not known for its depth of story. It'll be okay, as usual, and the multiplayer has its fans. But Modern Warfare 3 will be the straw the breaks the camel's back; the sales incline the series has enjoyed will come to an end.

I'll take the game with the dedicated servers, that was designed with PC as the lead platform so that it's not gimped by consoles. You know... the good one.

If CoD is going to redeem itself in any way, it has to reinvent the wheel basically.
It got a huge boost in popularity and gameplay numbers when CoD4 was released. Added as much graphical improvement as they could fit on the disc and still keep the game running at 60fps on a console for MW2, and this is yet another release for them on the SAME generation of console..why would you be expecting such a huge overhaul? MW2 is one of the best looking console games EVER. PERIOD. It's hard to get much better on a console on this generation as it's coming to an end soon (xbox3 only a year away), so it's only natural that the graphics have only had a minor upgrade from MW2 - But will STILL run at 60 fps on console which is fricking awesome. As for gameplay improvements MW2 was pretty close to being SPOT ON, in terms of expanding the CoD4 system to allow for more mayhem. And from what i gather they've take the same steps as they have when dealing with the engine as they have with the gameplay. It's a small improvement but an improvement on an already exceptional system is good enough for ALOT of CoD fans.

Ask any CoD fan, any REAL CoD fan what he want from MW3, and they'll tell you..slightly improved graphics from MW2 ..check!

Return of favourite guns from CoD4 AND MW2..Check. 20 new MP Maps with a truck load of new locales..Check.

The return of the best killstreaks and inclusion of new ones? Check!

The same fantastic multiplayer of MW2? Check!

The exclusion of broken perks? ie Stopping Power, Second Chance, Commando, One man Army? Check.

I can't wait for MW3 personally.

Anyone been on the Xbox live website lately?
It has a poll there saying what are you looking forward to most in the coming release days.
MW3 is on there with shit like Star wars connect but not BF3.

I think someone has been intruding on IGNs job of sucking cock for money and making one of the most biast votes I have ever seen. Gears 3 is on there but at this point Gears has faded so hard as a franchise against the tyrants of C.o.D and BF that it is easily tagged as a trash game by comparison.

I am personally spending my cash on BF3 simply because I prefer having terrain you can shoot through, realistic combat engines while having a proper class system (IE medic being an actual medic with healing kits etc) not just some system which says you have classes then gives you the choice of a shotgun or SMG as primary.

Which brings me back to how the fact even now, several months after Bl:Ops hit our shelves the 74u is STILL op and now they have patched it so that the variable scope + a PSG1 or LSG (the 2nd to last sniper) are instant kills on CORE game lists.

Right well, Thanks for bringing quickscopers into Black ops, I guess I was having too much fun without those no skill c**ts around to ruin the game.

So yeah. MW3 can suck the salty sweat off my balls. As much as I hate EA they are the lesser of two soulless money vacuum cleaner corporations. At least DICE has more nadges than IW or Treyarch.

Black Ops has a different developer from Modern Warfare.

The AK74u is NOT over powered, it is simply over used. People get the two confused when they keep getting pwned by the same weapon on multiple enemies.

Quickscoping takes skill, and it's not even a factor, have you seen the KD'S of quickscopers? Even Optic "pros" go through multiple trash gameplays before they get a Youtube worthy one. Know why? Because if you're even HALF competent at FPSs a quickscoper rushing spawn shouldn't get anywhere near you before you've mowed him down.

People don't play MW for the "realism" we play for the thrills.

And even though you're only 14 years old, you shouldnt really need this stuff explained to you.

It's gonna suck. And who said it's gonna be a conclusion to the story. As far as you know it won't.

Personally I think Modern Warfare Three is going to be a much more fulfilling experience than Battlefield Three, mainly due to the story which will finally see its conclusion.
However I seem to be in the vast minority on this opinion, everyone seems to think Battlefield Three will be an epic experience of jesus proportions!
Thoughts below.
SOrry, I couldn't keep a straight face after reading that. It's so wonderful that you can tell which is better, when neither of the games have been released. Mind you, I haven't played any MW game. And what the hell are you talking about?

First off: how many people actually play FPS games for story these days?

Second: how many people play multiplayer-focused FPS games for story these days?

Third:

Sorry but no.

You seem to think only consoles matter here, I speak as a PC gamer, PC elitist if you want to get personal, IT may be the best looking, I can't verify that from anything other than screenshots, but I still belive that Crysis 2 would look better.

On the other hand, you ask me to ask any REAL CoD fan, I consider myself just that, and while MW2 may have been good on console, I, Again speak for PC elitist beeing a PC elitist myself, owning every single CoD game except for the console exclusive CoD 3, And every league or clan I played in, had the same opinion as me, atleast the vast majority had, That CoD 2 was the best in the serie, CoD 4 was the best to play competitive in, MW2 should go die in a fire and Black Ops is indeed a good throwback to the older games, not the pile of dogpoop that was MW2, but it was killed by the broken coding.

Sorry, but what you consider a REAL CoD fan differs from mine, I speak for PC elitist, and more importantly PC elitist who play competetively, in Both CoDLeague ATI League, Euro Dom and more, and MW2 was never even close to rival CoD 4 in popularity.

You may freely speak your mind, but it seems you come from a console, And I am well aware of the popularity of the games, I won't denie that, but fact is, as sales show too, that many got introduced to CoD through MW2, and that IS NOT a good benchmark for the entire series.!

Addendum: IF you want another version of the statement, CoD basically has to reinvent the wheel to redeem itself to PC gamers!
