well some american RPG's use MP but they disguise it as skill points or ammo.geldonyetich said:If this were an American RPG, I'd say Dexterity. However, these being an Japanese RPG stats, I'd say MP, because you can usually prop up all the other stats with spells.
I take speed as the time it takes for my turn in Jrpgs ATB system, can't think of other games that use a "speed" attribute.Gigaguy64 said:i was counting it as the same, but plz tell me difference!!!!D4zZ said:Where's my Agility aswell or are you counting that as speed. (not the same thing *humph*).
i must know!!!
SPD is being able to hit your target, ATK is the DMG you do.Kuchinawa212 said:Ah HP if I gotta. I mean what's the point of killing a bad guy if I can surive his friend about to charge me.

I'm talking about all the stats on the poll taken together, not just the MP.Gigaguy64 said:well some american RPG's use MP but they disguise it as skill points or ammo.geldonyetich said:If this were an American RPG, I'd say Dexterity. That is an interesting philosophy, however it is a flawed one. After all a jack of all trades, is a master of none.Macksheath said:None; only a poor warrior chooses one stat above the other.
But since this thread leaves me with no choice, I guess speed. In Fire Emblem rules, your opponent will stand still whie you double him.
I have seen all of those in western RPG's. I've even seen them all in one game.geldonyetich said:I'm talking about all the stats on the poll taken together, not just the MP.Gigaguy64 said:well some american RPG's use MP but they disguise it as skill points or ammo.geldonyetich said:If this were an American RPG, I'd say Dexterity. ATK, DEF, SPD, HP, MP, LUK are mostly stats you see in Japanese RPGs. Charisma not so much, I'll give you that.
yea.. in fire emblem it effects a lot and some characters suck at the stat.apoktaino said:I gotta say luck, It normally affects all the other stats, and is the hardest to level up in most games
You'll see the tendency for them in Eastern games to such a greater degree it's pretty clear that this poll is based on Eastern game. That you've seen them all in one game probably suggests that particular game imitated the Eastern games is all. (Either that, or you're confused about the true origin of that game.)KingPiccolOwned said:I have seen all of those in western RPG's. I am fairly certain I saw all of those in Oblivion. Which is by Bethesda, and thus very western.geldonyetich said:You'll see the tendency for them in Eastern games to such a greater degree it's pretty clear that this poll is based on Eastern game. The Elder Scrolls series might have similarly named stats, but they operate in a pretty different manner. ATK isn't chance to hit, it's a derived weapon damage. DEF isn't a chance ot avoid being hit, it's a reduction of incoming damage. SPD isn't the model of speed you see in the poll, but rather a generic stat that determines the speed of movement (not attack). HP and MP are heavily derived from other stats. Luck is pretty close to operaitng the same, at least.KingPiccolOwned said:I am fairly certain I saw all of those in Oblivion. Whaaaat. SPD is Speed, as in movement. Having a high attack skill means you attack well, aka HIT well. Strength should be how much damage you do.Gigaguy64 said:SPD is being able to hit your target, ATK is the DMG you do.Kuchinawa212 said:Ah HP if I gotta.
