Charisma. It's how I solve all my real-world problems, only, in game, I'm doing it in exciting situations.

Hmmm. Interesting. All are important to the skilled RPG player. But I'm gonna go with MP as I've seen way too many an RPG game to be steamrolled by magic users with bugger all points in any stat other than their magic.

Probably becuase magic in most RPG'S does shit tons more damage than any other form of attack.

YES! Hp is in the lead people!

Really though, I usually make a lot of different characters in RPGs, to try out different aspects of the game play. I try a character with humongous strength, being able to beat the crap out of people and crush cars with your pinkie. I try a character with massive amounts of spell power (MP, Intelligence), so I can make them think I crush cars with my pinkie. Maybe with all that spell power I should crush people with my thoughts as well I guess...

Just on later days I've started to like the Endurance/Stamina/Vitality/Constitution/Hit Point stat. Like someone already stated, usually there's gonna be stuff flying at you, trying to kill you, and I want to be left standing. I always reckoned it to be really "bad ass" as well, being able to take a few shots in the stomach, grunting, pulling out a sword (or whatever way you would like to finish him off), and ending his life with the words "Oh, you're in BIG trouble now!"

Really, having much HP makes me feel more manly I guess^^ Being a war torn veteran or whatever, being heroic and all that crap. I don't like my heroes being scrawny little thief's running around stealing peoples toilet seats. That's not heroic in my opinion...I always see characters with a lot of HP as cool I guess. If a Magician/Sorcerer/Spellcasting-hobo is able to take a few punches and dish out some serious pain with his spells, he's cool in my book.

Enough with all this bullshit I spew, I don't even know where I'm going...
Anyways, I usually try out everything with a game anyways, as should you!

Depends of the game really.

But with enough ATK no one will fuck with you, no matter the game.

Just to give an idea of how much i prefer HP over the rest of those stats, that was the only thing i upgraded pretty much ever in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Because of that i didn't have enough flower points to beat the last boss :,(
But other than that i would say magic or attack

High health and defense means that powerful barbarian can whale on you all he wants--won't matter worth a thing and you can take your sweet time nickel-and-diming him down.

charm resistance, cause you will end up dying if you keep giving the hot chick all your loot

Just remember: there's nothing saying a low charisma score doesn't make you such an unwholesome ass that you get a bonus to Will save throws versus charm, simply by being stubborn and not liking anyone.

HP. There's nothing funnier than watching a character soak damage like a sponge. Also good for auto-combat toilet breaks.

Either that or you could make a zoo-philic character, but then you'd just end up handing all your loot to the stable-boy for free acces :p
Though that would still not affect your "off-game" charm resistance :/

Except for very unbalanced/broken games, no stat can make you invincible, so I would pick HP

None of your stats matter if you have 0 HP.

INT or CHAR, I'm a charming scientist, with lazers.

Because talking your way out of trouble is wonderful, but sometimes fighting is unavoidable, rabid dogs for example. So at some point you'll need to to battle, and knowing is half the battle!

Anyway next I would pick MP, then Speed, then Attack, because I don't plan to let them hit me, so defence and HP isn't really important. I have the same idea with my pokemon, only speed is ignored for the most part.

for me dexterity is best because on GURPS if you play non-magical character DX is the main point
