Since this is a poll about sniping weapons in general, I'm going to go lateral/retro and nominate the Compound Crossbow from Killing Floor. I had so much fun with that weapon today, knocking down up to 3 zombies/mutants/clones/whatever-they-are in one shot. A great moment in gaming.

I voted the VSS because it was silenced, had a high rate of fire and the bullet drop was hilarious, but I actually think the best sniper ever is the Farsight XR

off that list the M6D, how can you not love a pistol with 2 times zoom and High Explosive rounds?
but my actual favourite has to be the type 7 particle weapon off F.E.A.R., there's just something about the way it melts people that sends shivers up my spine

Gentlemen, I have you beat. The Farsight XR-20 from Perfect Dark. One-hit kill anywhere, fires through walls, sees through walls, shoots through walls and aims for you through walls.

Oh yeah! We (my friends and I) created a "no Farsight" rule for multiplayer as the secondary mode is just rediculously cheap (you don't even need to do much aiming, it finds the targets for you).

I never really used it myself. Dual Pheonixes though, that was the weapon of kings.

The sniper from darkest of days for long distances it caluclates the wind and temp and shows on the screen where you need to shoot then it bloes someones head off also also works round corners even better when you think your killing people from word war one with it
