Good and Evil, a black and white view of morality that is used in almost every game that claims to have moral choices, primarily RPG's. Paragon and renegade, sith and jedi, Tea and coffee is it too much to ask that we finally leave this concept behind, in many ways it reminds me of medieval morality play, but instead of use being bombarded with the churches concept off good and evil, it's the game developers. maybe its a grand brainwashing scheme that will one day see peter molyneux elevated to grand high emperor of the entire world. No one is ever intentionality evil, even the worst dictators and murders think in there own sick and twisted way that they're doing good or what needs to be done. So why in games are we constantly asked whether we want to be good or evil, choices like that don't actually exist.

sorry about that, I couldn't pick any of the options because fundamentally they're interesting subjects worth exploring.

Memory Lost.
How many fucking games start with your character not knowing who their are, how they got there or what they were doing?

Crystals. Somehow crystals have magical powers that can save the world or channel unbelievably powerful magic. Substitute crystals for gems if you want. Any shiny rock suffices.

You can't save the world without a shiny rock.

WWII. More overused than war in general. by definition, OVER used would mean that it has become stale to the point that it can't be made new/interesting.

Good points, all of them. But still: War. Definietly. And not just because many of the other themes can be boiled down to it.

"The bad guys loses" like somewhere around 98% of video games are about the good guys winning.

Zombies. Seriously fuck zombies. Also can we please stop with the games about Aliens invading earth? Thats so old! Why can't we go invade some other planet that is in another galaxy because they were threatening our toilet paper supply. Something like that I would play. Lets just stop with the whole "Earth is destroyed due to zombies and Aliens".

Wait, did you seriously put Minotaurs on the poll? I can't remember because no one was stupid enough to vote for it.

I mean....minotaurs?

OT: Generic medieval/fantasy settings in RPGs. As Yahtzee said at some point, when a fantasy setting has become generic and commonplace, something has gone wrong.
