The AI in STALKER is buggy, but I wouldn't call it useless by any means. When you actually fight alongside well-equipped allies, they're extremely effective. As for the enemies, they can kill you quite effectively in spite of the fact they're not terribly bright.dududf said:S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernonyl, is my final offender.

In Pripyat it's actually possible to hang back and let your allies do all the work for some time.dududf said:I'm gonn have to disagree...ComradeJim270 said:The AI in STALKER is buggy, but I wouldn't call it useless by any means. One guy walked up stairs BACKWARDS, right towards me, 1 shot gun blast and he's gone.
Or another case, their horrific aim, I swear if you Zig Zag, they go crazy with the aim.
Also friendly AI suffer from the same problems, all they ever did was tag along and maybe kill one goon, where as I have to run into bullets to get the other guys. They were useless and retarded.
Anywho I'm just basing it off of personal experience![]()

I can't count how many times I've seen characters get stuck on a small ledge, start running into a corner, run straight towards their attackers, and so on.
Since they just come back to life the game probably wanted to make it so no guards chase you for it.
