Far Cry 1, Farcry 2, Crysis, Star Wars Battle front one and two, Left 4 dead 1 and 2. Scratch that, every star wars game.

Oblivion...

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernonyl, is my final offender.

The AI in Painkiller. Those guys are so pathetic.

They get stuck behind bushes and 'slight' obstacles. Only occasionally will a bright spark shine through and kick your ass, which keeps you on your toes.

If given another choice, probably my allies in almost every RTS game I've ever played.

Seriously guys! Aren't you supposed to fucking help me when I ask for it instead of sitting on your ass while some bastard levels my base(s)?

Bad AI? Dynasty Warriors anyone? You can stand there for a good few minutes and not get hit by the vast army stood before you. Also it seems that your army are idle unless you're babysitting them!

Honestly, didn't have a problem with RE5 AI (I said RE5 because I prefer using Sheva to Chris). Right up until Veteran, she was pretty competent.

The Halo Marines were pretty good in a turret or passenger seat with a heavy weapon but we all know what happens with one at the wheel... but the SWBF AI was pathetic.

I remember leaving a CP with 3 or 4 clones hanging around and after taking 10 steps it's contested and all that's there is one Super Battle droid with a bunch of clone bodies around him.

I'm like... "WTF did they all forget how to shoot or something?"

Vegas 2 enemy AI was terrible but I found you AI at least fallowed your fucking orders.

Worst would have to be prototype. Oh my god. He just became the commander and then after a minute of hiding you return. Hello commander that just got fucking consumed here are the missile launch codes.

These are pretty big contestants, but i would say Star Wars:Battlefront takes the prize.

In a game where the concept is relying on teamwork and/or AI assaulting to win the game (or something of that nature) the AI sure is extra strength dumb.

I mean, hell, i remember the single player mission, playing co-op, where you had to repel the Droid Army from invading Kashyyk.

For some odd reason all our reinforcements were slowly dwindling away until we only had 2 reinforcements left, we had to sit and kill about a good 100-150 or so droids carefully and even hunt down a few remaining AI that have been running towards the wall for the entire game!

EDIT: Though now that i think about it, Dynasty Warriors is pretty horrible, just a giant formation of troops either running at another formation of troops to greet each other, or just do nothing at all.

Mass Effect anyone? My squad members seemed to love waiting till i was aiming then run and stand right infront of me the second i pulled the trigger. Also they couldn't hit a barn door from two feet away and would just go charging at enemies getting knocked out faster than a glass jawed pacifist. Sheva has to get a mention too. She was annoying as well as useless.

The AI in STALKER is buggy, but I wouldn't call it useless by any means. When you actually fight alongside well-equipped allies, they're extremely effective. As for the enemies, they can kill you quite effectively in spite of the fact they're not terribly bright.

What about the games where "AI" only means that the enemy does more damage while your stats are weakened.Panzer General and a few other older games fall into this category.
And also the games where you can shoot a guy(say an "Elite" something-or-other)and when he falls his "not so *&%^$&ing L33t" partners just stand there.I mean they don't even NOTICE.

Just like in the Oblivion clip earlier in this thread but maybe the dinner party people in Oblivion were just so above it all that they pretended not to notice.I haven't played it yet,so I don't know.

I'm just saying don't call some guy elite and then have him act like Cruiser from "Stripes".

I'm gonn have to disagree...

One guy walked up stairs BACKWARDS, right towards me, 1 shot gun blast and he's gone.

Or another case, their horrific aim, I swear if you Zig Zag, they go crazy with the aim.

Also friendly AI suffer from the same problems, all they ever did was tag along and maybe kill one goon, where as I have to run into bullets to get the other guys. They were useless and retarded.

Anywho I'm just basing it off of personal experience :p

Sheva, hands down. I couldn't complete fucking professional with her dumb ass dying every fucking second she was so retarded. I probably could have done it if I had more than half a day until I had to return it though. Runner ups include KOTOR party members, SW Battlefront, and Dynasty Warriors

I am gonna have to step out of the Poll here and say the Henchmen from Guild Wars. (Not the Heroes). They were the most stupid AIs ever used in the gaming community

In Pripyat it's actually possible to hang back and let your allies do all the work for some time.

Maybe you played one of the earlier versions. The AI was improved with later patches.

Everyone in Oblivion is just mind-bogglingly stupid. I can't count how many times I've seen characters get stuck on a small ledge, start running into a corner, run straight towards their attackers, and so on.
Make sure you're not drinking any liquids while you watch this...

Since they just come back to life the game probably wanted to make it so no guards chase you for it.

Needs more options.

I'm going to say ALL allied AI's. They have an uncanny ability to always fuck you up one way or the other.

And don't get me started on LEGO Rock Raiders.

Enemy A.I. in general. They're so useless...

Medal of Honor Heroes 2: Wii

They can't run and shoot, they go to predetermined destinations before shooting, and they will be using the other side of your cover for their cover. All this without batting an eyelash.
