Poll: Most Useless Final Fantasy character

*shrugs* The series is riddled with poorly developed characters with either no (i.e. Vincent valentine excluding additional sources) or completely over compensatory and needlessly complex back-stories(i.e. Squall Leonheart).

The Red Mage probably since it has blah magic growth and is not a great compromise unless you desperately want one.

I notice quite a few people are defining "useless" as "someone who's not God straight out of the box," or "someone who's good at something other than attacking."

And others are applying it as "someone I dislike, regardless of their usefulness."

Ye gods, Quina? Most useless? Frog Drop and Level 5 deathvs super overlevel dragons, along with a ton of other uber stuff, make him/her game breakingly good. If you never bothered to eat things, that's your fault.

Most useless, imo, are BlackBelt from the first game, and Bard from the original version of the third.

I'm thinking of adding Snow or that lady with staff that is friends with Vanille(lol) they are pretty much exactly the same. They are only their to add to the terrible melo dramatic plot.

i agree with snow but Fang owns in the later game if she is the COM of the party r at least for me she does

Although the first one was the main bloody character, I still found him to be the most annoying and unlikeable one of the group. Sorry, did I say he was a main character? He was just a douche who wanted to fly around.

Only if you equip him with weapons. Otherwise he's a physical god.

Vanille has a spell called death which affects the really hard final boss form. How does that make her useless?

Cait Sith leads by a lot. Never used him...never wanted to.

Quina is good if you can utilise him/her.

Penelo has very good magic if I remember correctly - in fact I think she was my main magic user.

Rikku is generally awesome. Sure her attack isn't great, but she is quick and her Overdrive can be lethal. Also, when you get the item to give a weapon deathstrike, I always give it to her so I can mug quickly and add insult to injury.

her overdrive is the most useful thing ever, using two certain items you can get trio of 9999 which gets everyone currently in the battle to deal 9999 damage no matter what.
Easiest boss fights ever XD

and for me...it has to be Quina...never use him/her/it

Never use thses characters either because they are incredibly weak with dumb skill sets or have the absolutely sh*tiest weapons made available to them (yeah I'm looking at you Quina)

Quina isn't that bad. Once you get the mechanic behind that character, she... he... it can become a powerhouse of a blue mage.

No, what's more useless is his damage input being base on toss of a dice. No matter how much you max him out, he can still doe a "1 point of damage" attack. The only saving grave was that he was the only character that could pick up the black materia in the temple since he couldn't really die.
