Well, I have used neither, so I cant give too informed an answer, but in theory I think the Kinect is better, mostly due to the lack of any device to hold. I honestly have high hopes for the Kinect, its not that its bad, just no one uses it right. Wii had the same issues (and the DS too) where no one used what it did to make a good game, and it was mostly gimmicky garbage fluff games. Swinging my sword in Skyward Sword is fun...would be more fun I think if I didnt have a thing in my hand...especcially when I almost slapped myself in the face trying to do a sword spin...

If developers started using the Kinect to make real games instead of just dance games, maybe people would come around.

I'll go with neither, keep that crap away from me. Flailing my arms through empty space in front of a TV and hoping for the correct response isn't my idea of fun. Once these systems provide some sort of tactile and/or visual (holographic) feedback we can talk, until then... they're just a gimmick, pretty much outclassed by any other control system.

They did, it was called Steel Battalion: Heavy Armour.

It wasn't very good.

Some people called it borderline unplayable, others dropped the 'borderline' part entirely.

I don't like either of them. The Wii was enough argument to get rid of excessive motion controls. Now Microsoft keeps trying to force the Kinect and its even more excessive motion controls. Seriously, even Nintendo realized they screwed up with motion controls. That's why later Wii games from Nintendo limited them, with the exception of Skyward Sword.

Anyways, I still voted Playstation Eye just to spite the OP considering he's obviously trying to get us to vote Kinect. Not to mention, it's optional, so if I don't want to waste my money on crap then I don't have to waste my money on crap. Compare that to the Kinect, which is a $100 mandatory piece of crap. I'd rather get a PS4 and spend the extra money on a game or two.

Wow, THAT'S a weighted question. I wonder which one the OP prefers? Hmmmm....

You also forgot to mention a couple of features of the Kinect, like how it's constantly watching you and sending that data "somewhere". Oh, and how about the part where it listens to your conversations for keywords so that it can tell your XBone what it should be advertising to you on a service that you're already paying a subscription fee for.

So yeah, all things considered I'll go with the missing third option that others have already brought up: motion controls suck.

If I had to choose, I'd pick PlayStation Eye.

Having very specific points of interaction is just plain better than hoping the camera will pick up your body. (Which is something I think even the EyeToy did with better accuracy than the Kinect?)

I still find the Wii to have the best motion controls, why isn't that an option? They're even the ones that started the trend.

The kinect and eye both look terrible. Still going to vote eye to annoy you then watch you swap the poll. At the time of posting PS eye is on the bottom.
Because this is a ps eye vs kinect poll -_-

Is there any reason why you left out the Wii motion controls? Especially when they basically made Sony and Microsoft jump into the foray?

I can't really answer this poll because I never had experience of the other motion controls myself (and all my friends that do have said systems do not have the accessory attachment.)

And the main title of the thread has called this a Motion Controlled Gaming thread.

Leaving out the Wii motion controls for the sake of having some half baked attempt at a Sony vs. Microsoft war (one heavily biased towards Microsoft) is pretty skewed.

Last thread the OP had with a poll, he changed the options so that it looked like Xbox was winning in the polls, when people were voting for Playstation. So I wouldn't be surprised if he did it again. That's why someone posted how the original voting polls were.

OT: Where's my option for "I don't care about motion controls"? Seriously, I don't care about motion controls at all. Really the only company that has made games that make me actually want to use motion controls are Nintendo, and even then there are only a few games at that. (Metroid Prime Trilogy, Pikmin 1-3)

Nope, but it kills your credibility quite fast to say the least. I don't think HydroFire is coming back though, especailly after the last thread he made. (He made another one later yesterday)

Probably not surprised what that one was about.

It's been locked on the second page if you wanna read it. Was interesting to see.
Now off to do Physics homework, then back to playing A Boy and His Blob Wii with a GameCube controller on my Wii U. XD

Ohhhh, It gets better. On another thread he explained that he got an opportunity to use both cameras at Pax Australia, and Kinect was '6-8 times better.' Clever member pointed out quite sharply that there was actually no demonstration of the device at that event, in fact apparently the only presence of the Xbox one was that it was in a locked the glass case. Well, except when they were using it for their press conference. Because they only had one of the things. He's only replied once to deny that it was the case, insisting that there were both playable Xbox ones, PS4s, and of course their cameras at the event. But there isn't a single shred of corroborating evidence.

He's pretty much lost credibility in every measurable sense.

The Playstation Eye isn't a government camera, so I think I would choose that one if I was forced to buy into motion control.
