Oh come one just because Fox said it you're all flipping out when for years people have been saying he's creepy, he's a pedophile, and "hello neighbor" was the evilest phrase. Get off Fox people and start realizing the hypocrisy on you all

Wow, this is just a new low for Fox News how the hell do you sit there with a straight face and condemn Mr. Rogers? What's worse is to know the source of their information is LSU (Louisiana State University) and I can only /facepalm at the mention of the flagship college of my state even conducting such a study.

You know, I thought the people who were condemning Mc'Donald's for giving away marvel action figures in happy meals were crazy, but obviously Fox News couldn't sit idly by and let such a thing occur.

But, but, Mr. Roger's Neighborhood started airing in 1968, so if he did not have an adverse effect on children until the 90s generation by promoting the same message... isn't he not the problem? And aren't they part of the generation that grew up watching him?

Talk about self-entitlement issues.

Umm... what? I don't know anyone who thinks he is a pedophile. Most people i know think that Mr. Rogers is awesome, myself included. Now, i think Peewee Herman is a pedophile, because he actually has been caught with child pornography. Do i think he is evil? Know. I think that he has problems, but i still think he hilarious. Plus, Fox wasn't calling anyone a pedophile, so who in this situation is being a hypocrite? No one.

I am by no means a religious man but i think Mr. Rogers was as close as you can get to a real life Jesus. He is the definition of all that we should aspire to be as individuals. Just a truly genuine man. When he passed away I felt like I had lost a friend a father and a neighbor. God bless ya Mr. Rogers.

Fox,go blow yourselves...Oh wait you have been for the longest time,my bad.

They're talking about how the self esteem movement is ruining kids, and turning them into a generation of narcissist. Which is actually scientifically correct.
Please by all means link us to a proffessional, peer-reviewed scientific study that shows conclusively that the current teenage generation is significantly more egotistical than that of previous generations.

Ideally paired with an essay by a respectable psycologist (or even philosopher) detailing why this has a major negative impact upon society.
here's a few articles

http://www.galeschools.com/article_archive/2007/04/esteem.htm

http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2007/02/27/study_finds_students_narcissistic/

http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-power-prime/201006/popular-culture-americas-self-esteem-problem <- yes that is psychology today. A respectable source

I could find more if you want

also, there's the work of this DR. http://www.jeantwenge.com/

P.S. Here's that philosopher you wanted http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALf2HZsGtGQ

The news makes lies about everything like the story of the Disney movie Aladdin having implanted subliminal messages. Closed Captioning proved that wrong and the news has continued to make up stories. Never assume and never believe until you see it with your eyes or talk to the accused person.

Remember this is coming from the same people who called Mass Effect a hyper advanced sex simulator...

Maybe.

Not from what Fox said. A person unconditionally encouraging children to have high self esteem is not, "Evil." Misguided at WORST, but not, "Evil."

I say maybe, because if Satan came to earth, he would act and look exactly like Mr. Rogers; Charismatic, soft spoken, and influential.

That is among the most absurd things I have ever heard in my life. Heaven forbid Mr. Rogers actually try to help kids find their self-esteem in years where they are being thrown into the social blender of school.

Are most teenagers a bunch of self-absorbed cry babies who expect everything to go their way? Yeah, kinda.

Putting most (if not all) the blame of that on Mister Rogers because he made them feel special when they were toddlers is like blaming Shaquille O'Neil for making people wish they were rich.

Edit:

Next on Fox News...

... Mr. Roger's is dead. I don't even remember Mr. Roger's other than he existing.

School ALWAYS said you're special, way before and beside Mr. Roger's. FUCK them. Inventing history. The fags.

They were laughing the entire time though... Hmm... do even they realize how retarded they are? Parents stopped whipping their kids for not getting B's or better. THERE'S your problem!
