well at the base of fox is a bunch of really stupid really rabid conservatives or other news joints that watch them just to see what sort of new stupid shit comes out of their mouths. Altho they seem to speak to a certain idiot segment of the population that hate everything about the world and seem to totally forget about anything that hasnt happened since they got old. Wow this wrong in so many ways. Of you're special just existing, and if anything is wrong it is this idea that you can only be special if you do well at school. That is just utterly ridiculous bullshit.
They're talking about how the self esteem movement is ruining kids, and turning them into a generation of narcissist. Which is actually scientifically correct. I don't think they actually think Mr. Rogers is evil. They were probably trying to be sarcastic. Take a chill pill, and learn how to take things in context.
Heck with the subject matter, just the way those anchors carried on the conversation was full of sleaze.
Apparently the idea was that Mr. Rogers was wrong to tell kids that "they're special" because it gave those kids self-entitlement issues.
They compare this to Asian kids, renowned to be hard-workers, as though whether or not they're told "they're special" was the sole factor behind this, instead of the familial/communal commitment that is far more likely to be the factor.
So apparently Fox News wants us to be a bunch of Asian worker bees with low self-esteem so we'll toil harder in their rich corporate backers' salt mines or something.
American Independence and self-worth is apparently an impediment to their master plan, it's time to go emulate Asia now, says Fox News. Now over to you, Glenn Beck, and your ultraconservative rant about the importance of American pride over intelligent conduct.
