Poll: MW2 PC hate overblown? YES!

As someone who is primarily a console gamer, I think PC gamers have every right to be disappointed with how much Modern Warfare 2 was downgraded over the original.

There was absolutely no reason for it. Modern Warfare 1 had maps large enough for 32vs32 player matches, people could host their own servers (which they would do, which would in the end save IW loads of $), and stopping mod support on MW2? something that PC games have had since the 90's? wtf

This is just a case of Infinity Ward pleasing the butthurt console fanboys who always got the lesser versions of games.

PC gamers have been spoiled elitist brats for a long while now. Seems like they all feel they should get the Team Fortress 2 treatment. (Or at least the ones petitioning against this game.)

Fortunately companies seem to be favoring console gaming, which I always felt more immersive anyway with vibration feedback and superior graphics. It's a good shooter, probably (no experience) improved by the mouse and keyboard interface and people should just accept it for what it is: a console port. A near direct one; no privileges are on the consoles that isn't on the PC. They're just complaining they didn't get the extra stuff? Boo-hoo.

I thought it was obvious in my examples of them making hacks and exploits to try to make the the game unstable and then prove that it is unstable based on the instabilities they made, and their spamming of the IW forums.

All of the PC users who HATE MW2 WITH A PASSION! Just because of some of Infinity Ward's new policies are (in my opinion) mostly whiny douchebags with a ridiculous ability to hold a grudge. Yes they made you pay ten dollars more, yes they dropped dedicated servers, yes both of those things suck, yes you should be angry.

No you should not be THIS angry, and no you should not think the game is the "biggest fail of an FPS ever!" or that Infinity Ward is "The worst company EVER!"

Here's what you do:
1.) See what they did to PC users
2.) Get pissed
3.) After a couple of days or a week or two admit that it is overall a good game
4.) After a couple of days or a week or two admit that the company has *some* merits
5.) let rage simmer down to annoyance
6.) Buy or don't buy future IW products based on level of annoyance
7.) In extremely angry cases maybe write a letter or something

Here's what you DON'T do:
1.) See what they did to PC users
2.) Get pissed
3.) Get more pissed
4.) Throw a fucking tantrum
5.) Make a website called ModernWarFAIL.com (seriously, how fucking immature is this?)
6.) Use website to engage in a massively overblown "gamers scorned" smear campaign
7.) Call it the "worst FPS in history!!1!1" (A lot of people)
8.) Call Infinity Ward the "worst company in history!!1!1" (a lot of people)
9.) Make a petition (MWfail.com)
10.) Make another petition (MWfail.com)
11.) Send a $60 check to a rival company (some crazy dude)
12.) Spam their forums in an attempt to create disorder (MWfail.com)
13.) Try to create cheats and hacks to prove the game is unstable and sucks (MWfail.com)
14.) Throw another bigger fucking tantrum
15.) Never give up your uncontrollable rage, and call everything related to IW the worst thing ever, forever, with no regard to the actual quality of the product in question.

So you thought you'd help use all my bringing this back into public knowledge and dredging up the hate again bravo you idiot, flame baiting annoyance. Bravo you deserve a clap.

More on topic yes a lot of the hate is deserved because IW fucked over the people who bought the game whe nthe franchise started and no it is not elitist for wanting something that has been there in all PC games since the begining.

EG.1) What if Sony decided to charge for all online services would it be fair to ***** and moan about since you have always had everything free online?

EG.2) Would it be ok to complain if Microsoft decided to up it's online sub price by a $/euro/whatever15 a year?

EG.3) Would it be ok to complain if Nintendo released a patch making all normal Wii controllers useless and forcing people to the Wii+?

To answer all those for you yes it would be ok to complain that is why pc gamers were complaining. Price hike we could live take away dedicated servers, console commands, mods and lean and you start to take the piss as it took more effort and cost them more money to do these than if they had left them in. Since I was a paying customer of IW yes I have rights and as a person helping to keep them in business I want value for what I pay for. I'm not paying 60 euro of my money for a good but not amazing single player with a half done online from a game ported from a console.

People bitching because they are getting the same treatment as everyone else, then they ***** about the length of the campaign which was the same length as the one they loved.

Just to make this clear you know Counter Strike that was a mod so yes we are allowed to complain about losing what we have had since day one of PC gaming this is the point that some people don't seem to get. I don't see why console players don't complain about not having dedicated servers as the system is far superior to P2P and actually prevents pirating.

Ok I can you are new here so let me say this make sure you know what you are talking about before you post. Pc gamers are not spoiled elitist brtas that is like me saying that all console players are idiots who scream down mics and are all under the age of 12. For fuck sake with the people going on about extra things nearly everything that is extra is online on the PC because consoles are stripped down PC how can't handle what a PC can. Even though lean could be on consoles.

To sum up what I think about it. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and because of that people are entitled to think it is shit or the second coming of Jesus but stop making stupid threads about it that are flamebait. Again, speak with your money, if you don't like what they do (as a PC gamer you shouldn't) don't buy it, but don't start doing things like spamming their forums in order to ruin the experience of the people who DO like it. There are acts of disapproval, and then acts of pure vengeful malice, I do not approve of the latter.

Yes I understand what you're saying about that and I agree with it but doing stuff like this isn't going to help either it is just going to dredge up hate. The kind of people that do stuff like that website are people who like arguements and when you stop giving them attention they go away they're like trolls in that respect. Understanding the point you're making about atlking with your money you also have to understand which I think you do that it has be done but with a certain amount of media cover which I thought the boycott did nicely without being over the top. Me being someone who has actually boycotted it but that being said I know that IW aren't the devil and this move might have a bit more Activision than IW behind it.

There are people on both sides of the arguement who act in such a way that is with malice as you said but if you ignore it is fine just look what happened with L4D2 boycott. I pose the question would you like the kind of people on your server who supported the boycott to the very bitter end and still do? Now I understand the main reason behind it but the stuff they asked for was laughable other things were alright. It was shown to them however that L4D2 was a solid game and not just a half done expansion. I suppose this is kinda getting off the point what I'm saying is I agree with your view but not the way your putting it across as it is adding fuel to fire if you know what I mean.

I have a couple of friends in the UK and one down in Australia and yet there WAS NO LAG between us, except ozzy but only when the UK guys hosted private matches.

My point about what shits people about Americans is this, just because you don't lag doesn't mean others don't. Like I said, I played it both on PS3 and PC on release, and before it was patched both were unplayable due to lag. It was so bad that on the off chance of the PS3 copy joining a local match, my mate couldn't play because he was so accustomed to allowing for it. Just because your friends from overseas don't complain about lag doesn't mean it's not there, obviously if you're joining international lobbies you expect a measure of lag, when you join random matchmaking you don't (as the assumption is you're going to get matched to something local).

As for it being cool to hate, I actually agree with you. It is, much like Halo and Miley Cyrus a lot of people will claim to hate it with no real motivation simply because everyone else is doing it, it's like the reaction to having effective marketing, for everyone the keenly embraces it another will reject it completely. Just because a lot of people who hate it are uninformed doesn't mean that the hate isn't deserved, it's still a shit game and deserves little of the praise it's received, even if dedicated servers and mods were included this would be my opinion. In fact, this is my opinion of every game that is released before it's playable...
