Totally not bashing. Nope.

Also, what does it matter that people earn a few extra EXP through eating chips? Everyone who doesn't buy Doritos can easily catch up by simply playing the game. So I don't really see what the big deal is.

EDIT: Also this "trend" you are talking about. I'm pretty sure this isn't anything new. What with Pre-order bonuses for some games.
Ok. I dont like the Wii, Kinect, PS Move, or 3D and find them gimmicky and solutions to problems that didn't exist. I am paranoid, that in the search for money, people could hurt something I care about. And perhaps making a mountain out of a molehill.

But this is not a thread about me, or the wii, it's about MW3, something I was going to spend $60 but now not going to buy it, for whatever reason. I'm not trying to tell anyone how to spend their money, and if it sounds that way I apologize. I just want to know if people were going to buy it, why or why not? And to encourage discussion, I gave my own opinion as well some additional info to contextualize it.

Now if you are finished calling me out on having an opinion, I would prefer not to derail the tread any further.

If I am going to get MW, I'll get it the week after christmas at my local Target. That one week they slash $20 off new or popular games. This means I'll only spend $30- $40(depending if I get a gift card from work). I think $30-$40 is fair for MW3. NOT $60.
toughen up princess in Australia every new game is at least $100. MW3 is $128. i wish i could get it new for $60 so stop whining.

Hey, man. I never mentioned anything about Australia but yeah, your prices are rough over there. Based on American prices I was saying that MW3 should not be listed for for retail price. Nor does it deserve to be listed at full retail price anywhere else, including Australia.

Also $100-128? is it because of import costs or something or taxes?

Next thing you know Price will be saying "Trying to find Makarov has made me hungry and thirsty Soap! I know, lets have some Doritos and Mountain Dew! It's delicious!"

In all seriousness I find the recent COD games pretty average, but they are so damn addictive! So yes I will buy MW3, but I do think that this Doritos/Mountain Dew thing is ridiculous. Kinda defeats the whole notion of "Gaming is not just for kids! It is for adults too!"

I'll put it to you like this.

MW3 will be the first Call of Duty game I won't buy new if at all. I want to play the campaign, so I might just borrow it from someone. My friends will get the game on the Xbox and the PS3, so there's no trouble playing split-screen. Split-screen is the only serious enjoyment I get out of the recent Call of Duty games as far as multiplayer goes. I have to spam the noobtube or knife people in wager matches to get fun from online multiplayer.

I don't really care if other people seriously use doritos and mountain dew to level up. Levels in Call of Duty are just measures of how much time you dumped into the game, and in no way accurately reflect skill. Most of the best guns are unlocked right from the start, so it's not like it'll be on unequal footing. Overall, it's just a really stupid attempt to make money. Although, honestly, I prefer them trying to sell doritos rather than DLC, but I know Activision isn't going to do anything to actually improve the game with all that extra money. They'll probably just add another fee to access the game's P2P service.
