Nope. Never before the new show. Always wrote them off as garbage, and from what I've heard, I wasn't far off.

OT: I barely knew it existed before and I have come to dislike it quite a bit after. Not because of the show, but because of the rabid, insufferable, hardcore fans.

I hated My Little Pony with a burning passion... until I was enlighted with FiM, then, I became a fan =)
Over a week since our last pony thread, and this one is as best as I can tell completely original in its content. Congrats are in order open trap.
OT: I was made to watch a few episodes my sister recorded from the original. Not my favorite of things, but at least its better than the following iterations as I understand it. Beyond that no, I have not been a continuous fan of the Ponies.

No. All I had ever seen was commercials. I was bored stiff one day and after seeing so many avatars of the show I decided to watch an episode and I got hooked. Though.. The show IS making me consider buying a figure if they ever release one for applejack or pinkie pie.

Yes and no. The plotlines and such are original, but some of the pony designs (Mostly for background/minor characters) are taken from earlier generations. :xRadoh said:

The old series were terrible shit. Trust me when I say the My Little Pony branding was not what drew me in to the new series.

And yes the lack of ponies was disturbing me, and this was on my mind.
I've been a fan since the original My Little Pony cartoon back in the 80s. I've been collecting them for years - FiM is the only good cartoon since the original (and somewhat superior to the original, since it lacks Megan, the most annoying Mary Sue ever).

I watched an episode, I really don't see what the craze is about, besides it being a humongous meme and all.
I'm gonna be one of the few people in this thread who support FiM without having a pony DP. XD Was never into anything like this until I watched the pilot a few months ago, and ohmysocuute.
The show's awesome imo, and I usually use a Twilight Sparkle DP if I don't feel like anything more specific. I have yet to watch the last couple of episodes, because I've been saving them for a month as a treat for myself after exams are over.
