I haven't watched very much of it, but it seems like the kind of thing I'd enjoy watching while having breakfast.

I actually enjoy it. The animation is superb (i love animation of any kind, thanks College/Uni), the humour is random and witty and the characters are a good bunch.. each have their own humour style.

Also, Tara Strong voice acts... i love her voice and everythign she works on! (Rikku, Princess Clara, Bubbles, Timmy Turner etc).

I love that show. It's very pleasant on the eyes, and it sounds awesome (ever heard the Winter Wrapup song? Asleigh Ball has a real talent with singing). But along with that it's like crack, it's just so cute, funny at times and full of allusions to other movies and series.

I realized halfway through the first episode I was smiling and I never stopped smiling as I watched the next three or four episodes and went to bed around two hours later than I intended.

Brony is kind of at a meme status now, it means people who watch MLP and are above the target audience, like just around everyone here.

*brohoof*

EDIT: Amigo, dude, have you actually seen the show? Yes or no question.

You hate MLP. You tell people they're girls for watching MLP. I just looked at your probation and you were telling more people about how stupid MLP is when they had MLP avatars.

YET YOU'VE NEVER EVEN WATCHED IT?

How in the name of flying goats would you know anything is bad if you've never experienced it?

Every so often I ask myself:

DAMMIT LAUREN FAUST! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME?!?!

before logging into Equestria Daily or ponychan for some pony-related things. FIM made me question everything I hated in the last 10 years, especially having to sit through an awful viewing of one of the original movies while babysitting 2 younger girls when I was 10 or 11.

Swanky or not it makes no practical sense to buy a pocket watch.
I'm allergic to the metal half of the periodic table. I'd say 90+% of wristwatches have metal backings or straps. Wearing glove + having a pocket watch is the only viable solution aside from using a cellphone/mobile device to tell time for me. Am I a hipster too?

OT - Going to rewatch the dark knight, then sometime today/tomorrow, going to watch MLPFiM. AT least the first two episodes. More if I like it.

You know if we keep on quoting each other this will only end with our probations being extended or turned into bans?

As such, I challenge you to private message fisticuffs!

Well now after getting sucked into it not to long ago. Gotta say I will prolly keep watching it. Its cheesy but it doesn't feel like I'm being forced feed the story. Also its as adorable as hell.

Oh 18 and male.

EDIT: You know what I like about it, it reminds me of the cartoons I had when I was a kid. And embarrassedly enough it also reminds of the powder puff girls, I show that I watched before in the golden age of my childhood. Old enough to remember those lazy Saturdays and young enough not to get embarrassed by anything I did.

Considering that Lauren Faust was essentially working with "Make a show about ponies so we can sell more pony toys to little girls" it's a pretty good show.
Exactly this. This is the reason people can watch FiM and enjoy it; because the creators of the show cared. There's genuine enthusiasm to be found at every level of production, from the voice acting to the animation to the god-damn outstanding musical numbers. The show has such a wide audience precisely because of what it could have been. Indeed, what it should have been. Friendship is Magic should have been nothing more than a soulless brand exercise, with only the barest hint of thought to keep even a modicum of coherency. It should have catered to the lowest of stereotyped common denominators. It should have been a worthless and pathetic excuse of a glorified advertisement.

It should have, but it isn't.

The creators of FiM literally took nothing and made it into something, all because they bothered to care about what they were doing. Friendship is Magic is proof positive that there are no good ideas, and only the execution of an idea will determine whether something holds value. Even if you can say you objectively hate My Little Ponies: Friendship is Magic, you cannot deny that these people made it about as good as they possibly could have, given the criteria.
*Applause*

Damn, dude. Nice speech.

You know, I was getting really excited there for a minute. Four whole pages with everyone actually discussing the show on its relative merits, giving their opinions and acknowledging the validity of the opinions of others? My faith in humanity was getting built back up.

Then I got to page five.

*Sigh*

Oh well. Nothing lasts forever, I suppose. I actually intend to check this out as soon as possible; I've already downloaded the first 20 episodes. Unfortunately, it's Lent. Anyway, you guys want to know something funny? I used to play with these things as a kid. 20-year-old straight male here, by the way. I just thought horses were awesome. Looking back, I think it was tangentially related to my interest in knights. So I had these horse toys--I guess handed down from my cousin or something--and regardless of the fact that they were weird colors, I loved them anyway, because, hey, horses. So yeah, I may have more claim to this show than most of the "bronies" out there, despite not having watched it yet.

Well, it is the first in the entire series to have a real SOUL.

All the shows before in the series (and in little girl's entertainment in general) have been corperate cash-in's that were done badly to sell dolls filled with paper thin characters and plots. They also have a tendency to jam in numbers and how to spell things at an ungodly rate.

MLP: FIM is however filled with interesting characters and thought out plots. Each episode has little to do with each other, so each is one tightly contained story of joy and cheer. The only lesson this show is trying to make is to go out and make real friends.

If your even slightly interested, watch the THIRD episode.

The first two sells the series short as a "Captain Planet meets the Care Bears," which this show isn't in the slightest.
