Yeah I might get fired from my job soon, although I don't know, my boss keeps saying how much of a "good guy" I am and a "great friend" oh god.....just today he said he loved me...which I'm guessing he means in the way that I'm such a good worker, I'm polite and I work hard and blah blah blah, oh well when they fire me (if they do) I'll just call the Labor board, my boss takes 15% of my debit tips (im a pizza delivery boy) AND he only pays me 7.50 and only pays the cooks 8 bucks an hour

EDIT; Also on topic, yeah your boss sounds like a *****

I just needed to get this off my chest because I haven't even told my family I've been fired yet.

I worked at a bakery, and it was one of the best jobs I ever had, I got there early and worked hard every day. I was still in training when I was fired. I scheduled my car for maintenance and it would take a day I asked for the day off a week in advance which is the norm. She said she would fire me if I was a minute late so I payed for my grandpa to rent a car and borrowed his since I'm too young to rent a car and made it to work on time.

I was supposed to train for two weeks but she wanted me done in 1 so I had to quickly memorize every ingredient in every bread and pastry as well as every procedure. I did the early morning set up twice and upon inspection I made only one mistake on my first try which was slightly too much powdered sugar on some fruit muffins.

Plus there was this girl who was training with me that started a week earlier and was getting the full two weeks, who made massive mistakes and spilled stuff regularly and still wasn't fired.

I think it's because she hates men, she openly stated that "men can't handle this easy job" during my interview.

Edit: The reason she gave me was that the store I was training to work at had "enough staff" even though it was critically understaffed and she often had to ship workers from the other store to staff it. The other workers hate having to drive there and say they already work too many hours.
I wonder why she hired you in the first place because it sounds like she wasn't too keen on you in the first place. Did she hire you or did you go to someone else who hired you? Either way, I believe she wanted you gone for some other reason than the one she gave you. Maybe someone more qualified appeared or you secretly did something that pissed her off. I have seen new people at my job who had their heads on the firing block for just asking for time off. In all likelihood, she probably assumed you would continue to ask for time off on a regular basis and fired you to hire someone who had would come in more regularly. Maybe she dealt with a lot of people who ask for time off and thought you would be the same way. She was probably figured you would call in a lot. Instead of giving you a chance, she probably thought it was better to go with someone else. It happens all the time at the store where I work. Some new person starts working there and starts asking for time off soon after they got the job. The manager has to make a snap decision whether to put up with it and hope you will come around or cut her losses and go with someone else. She was a ***** for not giving you a chance, but it was a tough call and she probably had to go with her gut over her heart.

Where is the "She is a ***** and Mmmmnn Muffins!"-button!?
Because I really can't decide what to click.

Sounds bitchy. Kick her in the nuts!
... I mean wait in front of the shop for the bakery's nut delivery and then kick the full bags. That'll teacher her.

This is too bad for you, but I think it is probably for the best. You probably wouldn't have enjoyed having to work there for a long time with a boss that terrible.
This guy (girl?) knows what he's (she's?) talking about. It wouldn't have mattered how much you loved a job, if the boss was a royal-*****, you would have ended up hating it. Also, if you can find another bakery, you can impress the manager there, seeing as you'll already know most of the stuff you need.

So yeah, bad luck, I really hope you find another bakery or something to work at, because I wouldn't want your ex-boss to get the last laugh.

This sounds an awful lot like unfair dismissal, perhaps you should take it up with the appropriate authorities.

The ***** sounds dope, yo'.

In all seriousness, that sounds like textbook sexism. Give the hag a piece of your mind. Seriously, if there's no chance of getting your job back, march down there and just fucking explode.
I agree with you just do it fast and not with any real explosives lol.

Also get a job at a bakery that is near hers and tell them all the secrets of the other bakery... yes I'm quite evil like that. Anyways it does suck that you had to be treated like that just tell her she is a stupid ***** and picket the bakery saying that she is a sexist, just do it in a non threating manner.

Problem was that she was only there a short time each day but the job itself was fun and awesome to the point I woke up smiling each morning. Plus there is the whole poor college student thing.
Ah, PSS (Poor Student Syndrome) strikes again. I too am afflicted with it. You have to remember that there are millions of jobs out there, many bad, many good.

I've had the luck to work a few good jobs (I had a good gig going with a parking attendant job with Impark for awhile) and only have one bad job experience (don't work at Walmart, they try to brainwash you plus they are generally terrible about treating their workers[footnote] At least, I had a terrible time working there. It was probably just the location.[/footnote])

The world can be pretty unfair sometimes but you should just keep going. That's what I've been doing but I've vowed to never let the world change who I am.

What absolute shit. Obviously she's sexist, and I'm sure you could sue. Hell, if anything, you could bring that to her attention in an attempt to get your job back, but all in all, I think you're better off being fired in the long run. Who wants a sexist boss anyways?

What a *****! That makes me angry just reading that. I know people like that too, anyway, you seem like an honest, hard working person. I know you'll find something better (please don't lose that work mentality you have because of someone like this.)

Sounds like you could sue her for sexism and unfair dismissal.
Sexism from a woman is always laughed at. Kind of like when a male is sexually abused.

Go back there and hit her with a loaf of bread.

Nah, just kidding about that last part. You got screwed. It sucks, but it happens. Be the better person and go do something great with your life. Or go buy a pastry with powdered sugar and say it doesn't have enough...

What a ****.

Sounds like my last boss.

Trained me for 1 hour as a cashier then left the rest up to me.

Fuck you, *****!

This sounds good. Do this.

OT: Yes, she was very much in the wrong, and you, my poor friend, have just been subjected to unprecedented sexism.

Already posted my opinion, but I have to agree on the 'hating your boss' thing. My dad used to work for a company that specialised in fitting conservatories, patioes, and stuff like that. He ended up quitting because he hated his boss that much that he even admits he was exceptionally close to beating the guy to a pulp. Bear in mind that although my dad is the sort who won't hesitate to slap me and my brother if we misbehave (even now, and I'm 19, and to be honest I agree with his discipline methods), he's not usually a violent type. He'll shout but he won't get violent unless extremely provoked. Yet he admits that on the day he quit he was very close to beating up his boss and leaving him there.

Anyhow, my dad started out in carpentery when he left school, and he's now a contracts manager for a small building company. He would be higher except he was made redundant during the credit crunch, where he was also a contracts manager, and second only to the company directors, and above them the CEO. So yeah, it all kinda worked out for him in the end :D.

But yeah, I agree, OP, if you're not happy with your boss then no matter how much you love a job, you'll end up hating it by the end... :(

She also did harm to her having to deal with an incompetent employee and go through the hazzle of having staff driven there.

She also made you a favor training you and now you're capable of working in some other bakery.
