Far, far, far more powerful natural events happened long before recorded history.

I guess 2012 happened back then as well.

No qusetion about it, its the end of the world. All u idoits who think otherwise are just wrong as they can come.

Your all wrong so cling to your material hope science while we listen to the truth sayers.
DISCLAIMER - if your first language is not English please disregard the rest of this post. I actually commend your courage to post your thoughts in a language that is not your own.

If your grammar and spelling is our hope, I suspect we deserve the doom coming our way. Please take the time to learn the difference between 'your' and 'you're'. After that send me a message and I'll start your next lesson.

new zealand is built on a fault line, they get 14,000 quakes a year, this one was out of the ordinary but still just more of the same, relatively speaking

japan is also on a fault line, and has been long overdue (like, 50 years apparently) for a major quake

that one in china wasn't even that intense...

besides, most of the (major) ones recently seem to be along the same fault lines (give or take), so it's probably just slightly abnormal shifts in the tectonic plates

besides again, we're still a year and a half out from the supposed 2012 end date... if this is what it's like now, the end of the world isn't exactly going to be sudden...

I'm getting tired of the 2012 thing. The Mayan calendar just ends there, and it never states the world will end, it states a change, which could be positive; Maybe the Republican Party of the US collectively die in a huge terrorist action? Less bigots - More happiness.

As for natural disasters, the world keeps unleashing its elements, it always has; all we can do is endure. We can't stop earthquakes, tsunamis or tornadoes. Shit goes down, we try to keep standing, that's all.

They are just events.
Random is the wrong word though. And really, if this is the end of the world I?m unimpressed, more drastic things have happened in Earth?s history.

So I was thinking, Are all these natural disasters a lead-up to the climatic 2012 end of the world or are they just a series of tragic events with no relation?
Considering that earthquakes happen at a fairly steady rate and have been doing for several million billion years, a few more is hardly the harbinger of the end.

What is unfortunate is that the convergent faults are mostly in coastal areas, so quakes happen in just the right areas for dense populations. But that we build on fault lines is hardly the fault line's fault now is it?
