I have never played a Mario game in my life. Nor do I plan to.

...

Wait, was this supposed to be things we're embarrassed about? Oh. Well, I'm not that big a fan of Ghostbusters.

Lol, I suppose the redemption part of the title was incorrect. Maybe confessions would be a better title

I hate anime - the over-the-top drama, unrealistic action, and oversexualization of female characters turns me off ridiculously fast.

Watched a little Dr. Who, never really got into it that much... it feels dated and while the characters were enjoyable, I felt like the plots from episode to episode were shit.

I don't see what people love about Zelda. I've never played a Zelda game except once for about 10 minutes. I didn't find it particularly fun or enjoyable, and have no clue why it's so big.

Same for pokemon. Maybe it's because I was raised without much in the way of games and didn't play pokemon when I was young, which means I don't have a nostalgia boner for it, but a few years back I grabbed an emulator and tried it. Played for 3 hours, kinda had fun, but got bored and quit.

In fact, this applies to a lot of popular game franchises.

I think WoD is retarded.

I fucking hate modern fantasy books/movies, and any DND past 2e. I love Tolkien (books only, movies were shit) and Robert Howard's Conan. Despite my love for Howard, I've read precious little Conan, and derived most of my love from the 1982 movie, the setting, and the prose.

I dislike Notch for being financially successful when Toady One (maker of Dwarf Fortress) is living in a small apartment with a minimalist lifestyle. I play Minecraft with extreme guilt. On a related note, although I will proclaim to my dying day that Dwarf Fortress is the best game ever made, I hardly ever play it anymore, despite having a rig that can handle it with ease. Maybe I'm just kinda burned out from having played it since the days of 40d?

I've been VERY CAREFULLY avoiding ME topics on the Escapist for fear of spoilers. By which I mean BLAH BLAH BLAH I'M NOT LISTENING!
That's good of you. In my opinion, it's a great series and you should really like it.

U HAZ OPINION? EFIUHEWIUFHEIUHWEIUFHEWIURGFIUWCKJDFHKEHOEUHIWEFIUWRHFGIURGICDKJHWRH!
I know I have an opinion, but to many people, it is the wrong opinion of the show. There are a lot of people who go all over the internet looking for anti Whedon speech and do their best to try and bully others into silence. I've seen it done in many places. At one site, if you posted a one sentence negative response about anything Whedon, expect to see about a hundred responses that were novel length saying why that sentence wounds them so.
While I do think that your opinion is incorrect, I do see where you're coming from. Regardless, it isn't worthy of a million page response - you think what you think, and I what I think. Besides, neither a cursing out nor a TL;DR worthy speech will change either of our minds, so why do it?

With the possible exception of "Mostly Harmless"
The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy series peaked after "Restaurant at the End of the Universe."

The rest of the series really isn't that good.

I find that this is not a popular opinion.

I don't know that I would agree that the rest of the series isn't very good, though I agree whole heartedly that the midpoint of the series contained most of the funniest parts. By the end of So Long it felt like he was basically just cashing in.

I can't help being that guy in asking:
Can't all that be said about games as well?

OT: I'll go for not enjoying Star Trek, liking the Star Wars prequels, liking FFXIII, so far thinking MGS2 is my favourite, I don't own or ever plan to own an Elder Scrolls game, and planning to buy the DMC reboot. All I can think of at the moment.

...Damn, I'm the anti-christ. There is no redemption for me.

I'm not ashamed of not liking something that happens to have great nerd credibility. If I don't like it I don't like it.

That said, I don't give a fuck about Westerns, John Woo movies, Bruce Lee, Star Trek, Firefly, and Quentin Tarantino.

I think the ending to Prototype 2 is actually worse than the ending of Mass Effect 3. I mean, at least the ending of ME3 makes a twisted sort of sense, in a way.

I've never seen 2001: Space Odyssey or any of the Alien films, despite me really wanting to see them. I've admitted this to lots of my friends.

I've also never bought a comic book (despite knowing a fair bit about a lot of the characters). I've never admitted this to any of them... I fear they'd kick me out of nerd-dom for it.

I only watched the original trilogy a day or two ago and dammit! I missed out!
I still have to see 1-3 and Gundam 0079 (other then that my anime cred is fine)
I still have to watch classic doctor who (63-89)

Don't like Star Wars. I can recite the damn script, but the more people chide me, the more I freaking hate the series. It's crap.
Haven't watched Doctor Who.
Only seen parts of 2001: A Space Odessy.
Not a big fan of Buffy.
Haven't seen Firefly.
Don't like the Matrix.
Never read comics as a kid (couldn't afford them and "it was for boys").
I have faked stupid about geek things to seem like less of a loser (this was 15 years ago or so).
I never finished reading LOTR (which is bad when you're a librarian).
I prefer to watch the movies than read the books for a lot of things.
Aside from Mass Effect and Star Trek, I don't like space things.
Never seen BSG, don't care to.
Honestly, I don't read that much. As much as I should. More based on my career, though. I'll read maybe a book a month (I'll read one over a day or two then not read another for weeks), and a lot of the time it's a re-read.

Many, many other things.

I never really found the Hitchhikers guide to be a laugh riot. Occasionally funny but never ha ha ha all the time.

I'm ambivalent about Joss Whedon, I get why others like him and I can respect him but I'm not enamored with his stuff.

I don't like Mecha. They just look waaay too silly. More realistic ones I'm fine with but the whole super robot genre never gelled with me. I'll watch the good stuff but there is always a niggling little voice at the back of my mind.

I found Star Trek to be pretty sill. A gangster planet, really?

I don't fetishes Japan, instead I'm a rabid Sinophile

I'm very conservative.

Never really played Final Fantasy.

I hate the large parts of nerd culture. Like truly hate it and want to have nothing to do with it.

I only got around to actually finishing Half Life 2 a few months ago, even though I've owned it since its release day and............................................................................................................................I wish I'd invested my time better, it was so boring and non-sensicle.

Not the games I play. Which currently means S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Mount&Blade (all of them), Dwarf Fortress, Legend of Grimrock, and Lord of the Rings Online.
