Hush. As far as Nolan Batman goes, none of his opponents have known his true identity which I think makes up for Hush being a "sort of unknown" villain. He can hit Batman/Bruce Wayne on both sides of the mask. Other than that, Catwoman if only for another female love interest and at least in the comics she plays an important role in the inaugural Hush events and then "Heart of Hush" thereafter.

In case you couldn't tell, I think Hush is the coolest Batman villain they've created since the original Gallery of Rogues.

I want the riddler because he seems like the only one that could be "realistic" and therefore fit into this new realistic interpretation of Batman. I guess Catwoman could too, not really Penguin and I really thought that Batman Returns had Danny Devito as the perfect Penguin (although phillip seymour hoffman could be amazing. Mr. Freeze hell no.

The Penguin could be reinterpreted into a realistic character within the Nolan universe. He could be an arms dealer, and information broker a new mafia boss from out of town etc. He could even get his name from both his club (the Iceburg Lounge), and his tendency to wear tuxedos (nice penguin suit)

I like the Riddler, for a second though...Well I'd like to see how (if they even can) they'd do Killer Croc in a "Realistic" version.
That anime six-parter "Gotham Knight" did that. It's technically, and loosely, tied to the canon of the Nolan universe, but they had Waylon Jones "Killer Croc" as a man with a rare skin disorder that made him kind of scaly, not in a literal sense, and when Batman confronted him in the sewers, he was all hopped up on Scarecrow fear toxin, which distored his figure and made him appear to be monstrous. It was certainly an interesting take.

When it boils down to it, the best way to do any kind of supernatural villain in the Nolan-verse of Batman is to shoot him up with fear toxin and have at it.

Black Mask and Catwoman.

I need me some Cat Woman and for some reason, I think Summer Glau would be perfect for the role.

Most people here should know who that is. River from Firefly.
While I'm not sure about Ms. Glau, I agree with Black Mask and Catwoman. Black Mask fits well into the Bat-filmverse, being basically an unorthadox mobster with some physical prowess, and Catwoman because, well, we need a new love interest for Batsy, and I really like their relationship in the comics. So complex and weird: Just how do two obsessives have any sort of romantic involvement?

Here's the official poster. I also am certain that the penguin will be in there two.
If you dislike the riddler listen to this quote
"You don't understand... I really didn't want to leave you any clues. I really planned never to go back to Arkham Asylum. But I left you a clue anyway. So I... I have to go back there. Because I might need help. I... I might actually be crazy."

if we're talking about new movie? for Christopher Nolan film?

BANE. or BLACK MASK. preferably Bane, though. Knightfall showed us he could be a great and intelligent villain- systematically planning to break Batman.

if we're talking about sequel to Arkham Asylum?

Riddler, definitely. Though it would be hard to beat Mark Hamil Joker

I think it can be done.
Well Croc was originally a guy who's pretty strong, but has skin mutations that look a bit like a crocidlie skin. If they do that it could work, though he would have to be hired muscle.

What I'd want to see though would be a "super-powered" gangster like Black Mask or the Penguin. I think that would work well, and they'd be able to use some of the detective elements of Batman, like have him conect together clues to find the leader of the gangs.

Years ago when Nolan was talking over the future of his Batman series he said a few things.

1) No "supernatural villians." That means no Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, etc. Catwoman would be nice but I do recal him saying that she was overdone and didn't exactly fit.

2) Robin is still in diapers during these current adventures. I just wanted to add that in as it makes me happy to not have a Robin.

Sadly my friends, we are left with very few villians the general public would recognize. You need to think in the context of the 90's Batman Animated Series to see our Rogue's Gallery, if you will. Look in the way of Riddler, Mad Hatter, etc. Maybe a team up between the two. Hell, screw with us all and bring in Talia just to light up a few fanboys. Remember, this is a world where Batman could exist so no superfreaks and whatnot.

My personal favorite would be the Riddler, though the darker interpretation the gave in the newest Batman animated series. Just hope Nolan doesn't try and recast Joker. Too creepy.

they should use the riddler

and then bring Raz al-Ghul back, because that guy doesn't really know how to stay dead, even a crashing/exploding/vaporizing train wouldn't be able to kill him.. Plus Liam Neeson is better then any actor who has touched a batman movie, INCLUDING Heath Ledger (great Joker, not a better actor then Liam Neeson)

Ummm Raz Al-Ghul is traditionally within the comics a little over a thousand years old and uses a mystical potion bath in order to stay young...you don't think THAT is supernatural?

There really is no reason why the majority of his rogues gallery wouldnt't be able to make an appearance, all it takes is a new approach to the character, how do you think the Penguin went fronm dapper if silly man in a suit changed into the deformed freak and back again over the years? Lets just think about this.

Bane: Intelligent gun-for-hire who uses a super-steroid in order to become stronger.
Mr Freeze: A cryogenesist who sells and uses his technolgy in order to help gain money for his wife.
Poison Ivy: An Enviromental Terrorist and gifted biologist.
The Penguin: Arms Dealer to the criminal underworld and information broker.
