I just had a friend join our ranks no less then an hour ago. The wave isn't as much as people think it is, but the Escapist is growing and I think it is by word of mouth.

Are there people who make Secondary accounts? Oh ya. Do they make up the buff of the new member waves? Proably not.

Lots of people are always joining. Others move on. Some stick around only to post on occasion, becoming more and more bitter and distant from the community as they realize it has become elitist and hypocritical.

Yes, kudos to the mods and all, but I think this site really needs a totally airtight description of whats trolling and whats just being a passionate debater.

Well I just got a three-day troll on a thread from a guy who would not go away and told everyone else they were stupid and immature for disagreeing with him. After everyone ganged up on him for a couple of days, another guy showed up and started saying all the same things he said. I looked at both their profiles, and they share the same sign-on date, birthdate and country of residence. Then guy number two began to make all the same points and analogies and tell everyone in the same manner how insecure they were. I linked in a youtube video of one of Reel Big Fish's "shut the fuck up" videos.

Damn. Should've used cake.

Actually, if you haven't already discovered, they're pretty cool to the noobs here. As long as there's not a huge influx of obnoxious new trolls, the sentiment is pretty positive towards noobs.

"Noobs." I think I just found my 3rd internet slang word that I don't despise. I'm so un-internet-cool.
