Good to hear.
I remember that post, didn't pay it much mind, wish I did now, interesting topic though.
I'll also take it that the E-team reference is directed at everyone else, right?
To which post are you referring?
And yes, the E-Team reference is open for everybody.
They try to help answer any computer or internet related questions you have.
(Not affiliated with the official Tech Team we have here, though.)
The Swedish one.

I've been thinking about their low content posts, what if they are from a different site with a more lax forum? Then they might think that our forums follow an equally lax style. What are you thinking?

Also I belive you are the one who taught me how to imbed youtube videos, which in turn taught me what Panto-mime was.

Hmm. Perhaps.
But it still shows that they haven't read the posting guidelines before posting, as it is explicitly mentioned in there that low-content posts are extremely discouraged.
Lord Krunk's thread also is very good for summing up the rules.

I don't remember anymore who I've helped along the way.
If it was you, then I'm glad I managed to help you. If not, then... I'm glad I helped the person who isn't you?

It seems to me in the past month or two there have been a lot more people joining our marvelous community. I don't know if this is just that I haven't been paying proper attention before that or there has been a definitive increase in people joining but it freaks me out a bit. Some people I recognize who have joined relatively recently are overtaking me exceptionally fast on post count. I guess it depends if you measure your worth as a person by your post count or not as to whether you care about this or not but it kinda weirds me out. Of course I'm all for new faces but it feels like this little internet club we've got is getting a little less exclusive... I'm off to become a freemason now I guess...
I joined about 6 months ago, and there's people who joined more recently, who have like triple my post count.
Don't let it get to you, we still have some resemblance of another life outside forum posting.

Yes, it would be good to read the guidelines, something I always forget to do.

Didn't expect you to remember, i'm not sure myself. Only thing I remember a certain person doing was Max telling me the odd irony of me correcting someone back when my own grammar and spelling was truly horrific, thought it was funny when he told me that.

Glad to help the person who isn't me... That's a little confusing, but if there's no sense to be made, then it's already figured out.

I have a tendancy to welcome people to the Escapist (which you all may or may not have noticed by now) and I honestly see no problem. I don't think there is a massive influx of people coming on here, I personally just think people are going to join and that lots of people typically do and so far not many of them have given us much trouble. In fact some of the newbies are proving themselves as worthy members of the Escapist already, already knowing the ropes.... so I see no problem really.

I have noticed some new faces here and to be honest, I like that. More minds to mold. The Escapist encourages proper manners (sorta) and grammar which is needed in this series of tubes we like to call "the internet". Hopefully these manners will spread through out the internet and it will be a safe place to be.

I will admit that newer people getting more known than me and getting higher post counts (forum games, I'm look'n at you) does get a bit weird and I would prefer to meet the older members (they get referenced to a lot and it would be cool to see what they were like).

However, it's always nice to see a new and (hopefully) nice face here and they're always welcome to stay.

I don't know if I'm allowed to give an official welcome since I'm four months old, but welcome anyway newcomers.

I voted 'what new people'. Even though the Escapist community is without a doubt the brightest I know, with that brightness comes an anonymity only rivaled by 4chan. On most forums you'll recognize a couple of names after having spent a month or 3 there, but MaxTheReaper is still the only one I recognize here, and that because he's spam-camped the boards on several occasions. Since the Escapist is one huge heap of anonymous people posting brilliant stuff I barely watch post counts - while on some forums they are an indication of 'veterancy', I've seen people with a postcount of 50 make as many intelligent posts as people with a postcount of 3000.

I always read the guidelines twice...
Once as just a 'hey, cool! The guidelines!' then another as a more serious 'what might get me banned?'

And yes, Max is good for things like that. Anyone who does that makes me chuckle.
When did your spelling and grammar improve? I can't remember any instances where it was bad...

I often make no sense.
Spend some more time around me, and you'll realize that there's no point asking what I mean anymore. It's generally nonsense if you don't understand.

There are new people here? I've been seeing nothing but familiar faces for the most part.

Exactly how long do you have to be here to be stop being "new"?

I joined like 2 years ago, but was drunk when I joined, so I couldn't remember the SN.

Does that include me in old folks territory? >.>

More people means more different views, more unique personalities and so on. I'm all for it, and I don't think people should feel elite or better for having been here a little longer. I've been here for ages, but I haven't really contributed enough useless posts to be recognised.

As soon as you're known and remembered as [username] instead of 'that new guy' I think

So I don't think I'm new anymore...
I've noticed quite a few people who used to be new, but aren't anymore. Like VaudevillianVeteran, Domble, and Fniff. I haven't seen any notable new people.

Meee?
I've joined the ranks of insanity!
Though, I think I'm still being overlooked, for the most part.
Ah well.

There's been a steady increase in new people. Which I enjoy.

My main problem is so many people, new and old, give a damn that they're remembered, or are considered an "old" member.

Hmm, over a thousand posts in less than a month... sounds to me more like spamming just to get a cool title than anything else.

He's actually a pretty fun guy.
I've yet to see a single spammy post from him.
...although my word may not count for much in some eyes...

I don't mean trolling or anything, just doing a shitload of posting all at once just to get a high post count. That's what I (and Mobius, too, by the way) refer to as "spamming" or "post whoreing"
