I purchased one and am enjoying my decision.
Then you boy! Yes, you! You shall be the chosen one to answer my question.

On the shop channel thingy, can you only download DSware or can you download old Gameboy games?

No, because I have a Nintendo DS Lite in black, that still hasn't had enough amazing games released to validate a new version. Plus by not upgrading I can run my beautiful R4 card so I don't have to carry all my carts with me all the time. Also, the new version has two cameras..... WOW 0.3 MEGAPIXLES

Well, when I could choose, I'd buy the DSi, since I can't get GBA games anywhere anyway.

But I already have a DS Lite, and I love it. No need to waste money for DSWare (which only holds a certain WarioWare! game that I heard sucks) and a 0.3 megapixel (really?) camera.

Like the Gameboy Advance, which was outdated by the far superior Gameboy Advance SP, and the DS outdated by the far superior DS Lite.
Wait, what?

Change from batteries to a better power source and a change in size is being FAR SUPERIOR? Really? Oh, wow, and you could close the screen when you don't play, wow. Still, you could do on a regular GBA everything you can on a GBA SP.

The only thing DS doesn't have and DS Lite has (except for different size) is a bit bigger battery.

Is this a joke? 0.3 MP? REALLY? Holy crap, cellphones 5 years ago had better cameras.

I found this completely surprising. Over 600k sold the first weekend. Does anyone remember the old gameboys having that little camera and printer? Where the hell has the camera even been since then!? LoL old tools revamped I suppose, like the track pad for regular nes, and 10 years later DDR!!

You're right, it isn't FAR SUPERIOR. If the SP was embedded in the back of a fully functioning R.O.B. that washed my dishes, was armed with lazers, and doubled as a 5 terabyte external hard drive - then that would be FAR SUPERIOR.

The DS lite over the DS is a minor upgrade, but you gotta admit though that the GBA was pwn'd by the SP. Anyone, myself included, that spent just as much time finding a light to put behind them to be able to see the GBA's screen as they did actually playing the thing, knows this truth all too well.

I clicked maybe.

If they can make some cool apps for it, I might pick it up. Honestly, all they need to do for me is give me an app to read ebooks (including txt & pdf) while listening to the music player.

Maybe, I just bought myself a DS Lite less than 3 months ago because I had no clue that the DSi would be coming here so soon. But now I want to trade Pokemon to myself...and other such wireless delights.

i still have my original DS so i dont think i will. i play stuff on my friend's DS lite sometimes. doesnt seem too different. and the removal of the GBA slot pissed me off. i quite enjoy having backlit GBA games (i never got one of those other GBAs whatever they were called).

i dont know where nintendo is going with things nowadays IMO they havent been turning out very good material. or good news for that matter.

Trade in my perfectly good DS Lite for one with two 0.3 megapixel cameras, no GBA slot, a media player that doesn't support MP3s and an extra quarter of an inch of screen?

Sure. And maybe tomorrow I'll fly on my magic carpet to visit the king of the Potato People.

Maybe later, right now I'm saving my money for Prototype and Infamous.
That and booze.

But I mean I have no DS and there have been a bevy of titles that I want to get for it.....
Then again I also want to get another Wii.....(Ellipses are fun)

well considering that GBA games somehow magically killed my shoulder buttons, i think i'll have to pick up one of these. Needless to say I won't miss the GBA slot. Also, 0.3? Seriously?

Dunno. I'm thinking about getting a DS for my g/f. Would the i version be the one to go for considering she has no DS at all now?
