Let me rephase that. Motion Controls were a swing and a miss. There's a reason it won't be featured in Cafe.
Hmmm, that's personal opinion more than anything. I think the reason that they won't be featured in Frappe is that they required actual thought to be put in making a game around them.

I have yet to play a bad Legend of Zelda title.
Spirit Tracks rears it's ugly head.
It has similar concepts to Phantom Hourglass, and I found it quite enjoyable. It certainly was far from the best Zelda game I've played, but without being compared side-to-side with other Zelda games, it is a good game in its own right. It may be bad compared to other titles, but when viewed as a single game, it's not that bad, and quite fun to play.
It's kind of like Portal 2 in the sense that it's only not so good because it's being compared to it's elders.
Precisely.

aside from the rumble pack, Nintendo hasn't brought me anything that I actually care about since 1996. As far as hardware goes. The Gamecube was forgettable, and the Wii never appealed to me.

Matter of fact, the N64 was pretty forgettable too. I'd say their best creation in the last 15 years was the GameBoy Advance.
GBA was pretty cool. It brought some epic games. I enjoyed Summon Night: Swordcraft Story ONE. Two was just a complete mess that forgot it's brilliant roots.

Nintendo gives you Motion Controls and 3D. You may call them gimmicks but what do you really want? Plain old controllers? No attempt at an advancement in gaming? HD and Blu-ray started out as gimmicks.

1993-2002: Earthbound, Super Metroid, Super Mario World 2, Donkey Kong Country (2), Link's Awakening, Pokémon, Ocarina of Time, Goldeneye, Super Mario 64, Perfect Dark, Banjo-Kazooie, Advance Wars, Metroid Prime, The Wind Waker

2003-2011: Super Mario Galaxy..... Nintendogs?
Allow me.

Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, Kirby Superstar Ultra, Twilight Princess, 2 Advance Wars titles, FE: Shadow Dragon, FE: Radiant Dawn, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Phoenix Wright possibly, the list goes on.
Exactly. Not nearly as good as they used to be.

FYI, Phoenix Wright dates from 2001 and it's a Capcom game.

Oh? So it bears the Zelda name, has nothing to do with Zelda, except the name and protagonists but I'm supposed to view it as a single game? If that's the case, they should have named it:

The Legend of the Bad Director:Aonuma's Idea of an Action/Adventure game.

Or something similar. Alas, it is not so, even though in essence it isn't a Zelda game. And thus I will judge it by the same criteria I do all other Zelda game. And in that regard it is crap. So is PH, but that's a liiiiiiiitle better as you can go wherever you like on the featureless ocean

I am fine with it. As even though they do gimmcky stuff, they still make really great games that are fun. So why should I complain?

I want advancement, but maybe they should've spent more time working on the motion controls. 3D's been around for about 30 years and has made only really just one or two advancements. I hate 3D movies because they focus on the 3D aspect instead of the actual film. I'm worried that'll happen with the games too.

Well seeing as this:

Seems to be able to be stuck onto anything nowadays,I would have to say that Nintendo is missing the pancake mix that made their delicious video game breakfasts worth the time and money. Now it all just tastes like cardboard.

I like to reminisce in the past, I remember how things were back in the day. But to be considering Nintendo bad for not living up to it's predecessors/being as good as "back then" is an unfair assumption.

Nintendo is still cranking out quality games, why do we lurk in the past and how things "used to be"?

You have no legs to stand on with regard to the 3DS.

Yes, it can play 3D, but that's not much of a gimmick compared to something like the Wii. Virtually any game can easily take advantage of the 3D capability. And given that you can turn off the 3D and there are very few situations in which it's actually needed or used as a gameplay device, it seems abundantly silly to compare it to the motion controls of the Wii.

And then there's the bigger issue. The 3DS is, in addition to a handheld with 3D, also just the next DS generation. It's just a more powerful handheld. I could see the point of people complaining about it if it were just a DS with 3D capability, but it's a more powerful DS that also happens to have 3D.

I think the only reason I mentioned it was because of my personal vendetta with 3D in everything. I blame it for Friday the 13th 3D not being up to standards.

Why not take crap shots at Wind Waker too? Phantom Hourglass is largely based on Wind Waker's concepts, and has said "featureless ocean". Spirit Tracks I found to be entertaining because of the puzzles and obtaining new items, as they are some main appeals to Zelda I have. Exploring the "overworld" is limited to a single path which is what I hated the most, but I still found it entertaining to play.

Nintendo made fire emblem radiant dawn. Anyone who claims they aren't they don't make core games should give that a try on mania and afterwards wipe their tears off, come back and apologize.
