The law is the law my friend, don't hate them for it they are just doing their job. Besides one month won't take that long, or if your desperate for it get someone else to buy it.

And I can buy booze? Why wasn't I informed of this earlier! To the Batcave!
It saddens me that the idea of booze is more exciting than crossbows.

*shakes head* The young these days.....shameful.
I can't help it, it's all those violent video games, they've turned me away from traditional pleasures like crossbows and onto the despicable love of beer and acting responsibly. Only with years of therapy can I ever be a normally functioning human.

On a side note, How do you forget your freaking ID when you go to GameStop? If you're 17 or older in the first place, you should have your drivers license praticly Ductaped to your arm or leg at all times...

And I think all that can be said has been said about this topic. Rules are Rules. Stick to the rules, you'll be ok. Be stupid and try to go around them and you'll more likely end up getting kicked out of the store then getting your game.

Ah. Well, since you are the master of deciding what rules are stupid or not then we should all bow to your wisdom. After all, when anyone thinks a rule is stupid, it obviously has no value or purpose and should be disregarded as you said.

By the way, how old are you? The only reason I ask is because I'm wondering if there is anything backing your logic other than a youthful mind and immaturity(and your example just backs up my theory).

OT: As it has been said, laws are laws, and they should be followed. Even if it seems stupid to you there are usually good reasons behind putting a law in place. If you don't think it applies to you then it probably doesn't, but don't blame the lawmakers. It's the idiots who cause trouble that get laws like these put into place and if you want those laws to change then you have to work on changing those around you first.

I haven't ever been refused when I tried to buy M games. But then again, i'm cool with the guy at the video gamestore, and i figured it's just because of that that. but, i guess rules are rules. they're just way too eager to put a mature rating on everything.

When a rule exists based solely on peoples' opinions, that's when they are stupid and unjust. It is opinion that under-17s should not play certain games. It is opinion that under-18s should not drink. Some states ban gambling. It is opinion that gambling is morally wrong.

See what's being said here? Your holier-than-thou attitude about how children should be raised does not belong in the modern era. It's 2010. Get your fucking puritan idiocy out of my future.

Do you go to school? If so, you should have a school ID. Or a Birth Certificet, or something to prove that you're over 17 years old. (I'm American, so I'm not 100% positive about how it works across the pond.)

I mean really, if you have your wallet (or purse for the lady gamers) and you're going to buy a game, you should have some form of ID on you because you have your wallet (or purse). If you don't, why don't you? It's always a good idea to have identfication on you at all times.

Something I've always wondered about the mentally handicapped. When you don't understand something, why don't you ask for clarification instead of assuming it doesn't make sense?

NYU ID cards actually don't show your DOB.

aw, that's cute. but the thing is, kid, that not understanding nonsense (non-sense, as in it makes no sense) is different from not understanding elaborated points and arguments. you're comparing minors drinking and minors gambling to minors playing video games or watching movies they're not supposed to. adults are expected to be able to make thought through decisions about alcohol and gambling. kids are not. kids can't, either. see, your brain keeps developing through adolescence. if kids 13-17 all made conscious decisions, would the parents be liable? herp derp. and for the record, every rule is based on an opinion. there's probably people in the world who don't think killing someone should be more than a misdemeanor. you're acting like the people who made these rules haven't thought about them and are just trying to stop you from doing what you want.

But it's a university ID, isn't it? That at least proves that you're old enough to be in college (or university or trade school or whatever you're in), so you should be able to get the game.

... On second thought, perhaps that isn't good enough, as a good friend of mine went to graduated highschool at 15 and went to college at 16, so perhaps you need something more. I'm acually curious if the univeristy ID works or not now...

I find it weird that you're legally allowed to drive a vehicle that can KILL you, but you're not allowed to enjoy Bioshock.

Exactly, I mean. Yes it's a university ID, and yes most people who go to college are at least 18, but like you said there's always exceptions. It SHOULD just have your DOB on it, but hey.

You should complain to student services to get the ID changed to include your DOB.

The one thing that pissed me off about this was I went to by a game. 16 when I went to buy it. Now the game I was trying to buy was Uncharted 2, which is a 15, I don't look young for my age but the guy still asked for ID. I showed him my bus pass which is a special 16-18 one that's got my picture and 16-18 on the same card, yet the guy still wouldn't sell it to me.

Unfair or what?
