Watch Game Trailers awards, then tell me of rubbish voting. Although I think the Escapist has a good way of getting game of the year, get a group of different people to tell you what they thought was game of the year.

Either Modern Warfare 2 wins (for the multiplayer, I haven't played the single-player), or Assassin's Creed 2, because stabbing people and jumping on rooftops is fun as hell, and a good story helps too.

None of these. MW2 was an overhyped piece of crap. I want my damn sword! They give everyone shotguns and duelies, but I can't run around as Jack Churchill cutting people down!

Party Babyz should have won with its great combining of Partyz and Babies!! And no thats not sarcasm....ok maybe it was but I really think that Arkham asylum should have won. I love the Batman its hard not to with a voice so low his balls must be in his socks.

Left 4 Dead 2 was terrific, game of the year for me because I got the most fun out of it (I don't care that there's no 'real' single player, or that there's not plot being shoved down my throat).

Dragon Age was pretty good, I think I would have enjoyed it more on the PC (But unfortunately my PC is occupied by WoW 90% of the time so I have to play most other games on my Xbox).

Arkham Asylum was awesome, loved it. So as long as they don't recycle bosses in the second one (No Croc slow walking or Titans pl0x) I'm sure that will be great too. I'd place this in second.

Modern Warfare 2 was not up to my expectations. The story was jumpy and short. The multiplayer was recycled from the original, aside from spec ops which is only fun for a while.

Still haven't beat AC2 yet because it's on my PS3 which I never play, but from what I've played it seems to be the original again, which I enjoyed but it wasn't GotY then either.

Prototype was fun for one day, then the infection censors just got too irritating to comprehend.

out of them I would have to say that assassins creed is the best game, I just liked it more than the others. MW2 was a big disapiontment for me I did not play the first one so when I plyed the second one I was expecting more from the single player story, becuase i do not play it on live that often.

You do know that those games were their opinions?
Its the games they liked the most.
So you don't agree, so what?

And I go with Uncharted 2 for game of the year.

A game of the year should have fantastic single and multiplayer games if their both on the disk.
MW2 had both, but the multiplayer was obviously the focus, and the story just felt like action scenes loosely stiched together.

Where Uncharted 2 had a brilliant story and brilliant multiplayer.

That doesn't mean they hate all the other games, from what I understand they love them.

They just picked their favorites.

edit: oh, forgot to say, I also agree that they chose Fable 2 for game of the year last year. It was an amazing game brought down by rediculous hype.

But then again anyone who believes what Peter Moleneux says is setting themselves up for dissapointment.

My GoTY would be L4D2.

I just love it so much.

And I have yet to try Scavenge, Realism and Survival modes in it.

Something to keep me busy.
But Scavenge and Survival are the best ones!
Especially Scavenge.
It's tight.

Out of those I'm going to go with Modern Warfare 2, but it's not a great list.
