PC + mods = win.

Why 360? It doesn't really have better controls...
I haven't played it on the PC, that's why I ask.
I've only recently borrowed a copy of it for the Xbox and I'm enjoying it so far.
I do like the sound of the MOD, but I'd see it as cheating and I think I'd rely on it too much.

I have it on the 360 and I really gotta say if your comp can handle it go for PC. Like most people are saying I really regret not being able to get mods. There's so many hours of new different content you could just get for free whenever you wanted. It would probably be easier to get the DLC for PC because you could just... "google" it.

Mods sound like cheating? No, not at all. If anything, they're the anti-cheat, designed to make the game more challenging. Do a google search for "Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul" and read some of the notes. The mod is really pretty amazing and covers a lot of bases. Or there's little simple mods that just enhance the scenery and do nothing to the gameplay. Even those can help add to your immersion, or make a stale game feel fresh again.

I'll look into that shortly then :)
What other stuff does it enable you to do?

Not to mention the shame of actually owning a ps3 :p
Or the envy of not owning one is more like it.

Really the ps3 & 360 versions are almost exactly the same.
I clicked on PC because ALL the dlc AND mods are available there. I see that most of you agree.

Used to play PC version, but it runs worse than Crysis.(Fallout 3 has the same problem)
I'd say the console version is superior. Mods can't help a game when you can barely play it.

The game is designed to be played with a controller. Mouse + Keyboard is horrible with the default menus.

PC, because with mods you can fix the PSI guards, remove level scaling, make sure that bandits don't have daedric and other rare equipment, make the nature more pretty, etc.
Little things that make the already good game more enjoyable.

PC. cause im an idiot. I thought it would be cheaper to buy the Oblivion GotY edition but ended up having to buy a new graphics card, 2 GB system RAM, 128MB video card and a bunch of other stuff that I have no idea what they do

Wut? You do know there are mods that downgrade the graphics to a point where even 3+ year old laptops can run it?

Also, I don't know what the heck are you talking about. I played only with Mouse + Keyboard and can't imagine slow, heavy controls when playing an archer or a mage.

My face really is in my palm right now. This is incredibly ridiculous. Yes, if you're using a Pentium 3, 700 mhz CPU on 256 megs of ram.. sure, Oblivion on the PC might not be the choice for you. However, if you've purchased a PC within the last 3 years or so, this game will run just fine. The OP would know whether his computer is good enough or not. Just because it didn't run on your grandmothers 5 year old Dell laptop, that has 3 anti-virus programs installed at once, doesn't mean other people are going to have problems. The game has ran flawless for me and many others from day 1 onward, on computers that are not top of the line.

Ok, that whole "game is designed to be played with a controller" idea is rubbish. It's completely false. But let's assume for a second that you're absolutely right. As I said directly under that, use a 360 controller on your PC then. Problem solved. The controls are not a reason to buy it for 360.

So.. PC is superior because people have to downgrade it's graphics to play?

Playing with a controller is easy, the AI is dumb enough to walk in a straight line towards you, so when one fireball/arrow hits, they all hit.
