Then they are still bad...Xvito said:For all you people saying the graphics of the game are bad, think again...
Graphics isn't just about "graphics", it's also about the feel and the art.
Again, I'd say it's because you weren't there. People who played OoT when it first came out saw it as an amazing transformation of the character they loved in Link into 3D. Never been done before! Crazy! IT was new, it was fresh, it was awesome. Twilight Princess, as you said, had all the good aspects, just better graphics? Well so what? Where was the 'awe' factor? Where was the fresh? The new? TP was a great game that was well received, but where OoT blew players minds when it came out, TP was just prettier.Spaz91 said:I understand this point of view but I don't stand by it.Baby Tea said:The problem with this OP, is that you're viewing it from a modern perspective. It's like going back to play the original King's Quest, or even the Zork games (Who remembers those?). They were great for their time!
But we aren't in that time. You've been introduced to games with slicker gameplay, better graphics, and overall more modern presentation from an industry that has only grown for over 2 decades. You can't expect to understand or really appreciate the older games if you weren't there when they were released. Now, some people CAN do that, but I'd say the majority can't. Go ahead and try to play 'Quest for Glory: So You Want to be a Hero' and see if you like that game. Or the original Space Quest. Heck, wasn't there a youtube or gametrailers video with some 13 year old kid saying how crappy Golden eye was? That kid was pushing strained peas out his ass when that game came out!
Simply put: If you weren't there, you can't understand how it impacted gaming or gamers. Some people can enjoy an old game and get an IDEA of how the players of that time would have enjoyed it, but only those who were there can truly get it.
Like I've said just because it was 'good at the time' doesnt mean it is good now. Yet people still think it's the best game ever! Twilight Princess has all the good aspects of OoT and with brilliant grapihcs yet people think OoT is better?
Nooo... They're awesome and the music too.Spaz91 said:Then they are still bad...Xvito said:For all you people saying the graphics of the game are bad, think again...

Depends what they're being compared to.Spaz91 said:Not at all, I'm just saying they're terrible. And you can't deny that.gibboss28 said:...You were expecting the graphics of a game for the N64 to spontaneously improve over time?
A lot of people weren't at the Holocaust, but they hate it.Baby Tea said:I don't expect you to 'get it'. You weren't there.
I personally think that since you're already so biased against it that it will never live up to your expectations. I think you should play the entire game before you judge it. With only 2 hours of gameplay you saw maybe 2% of what the game had to offer.Spaz91 said:So what you're saying is that all the people who love OoT simply love it cos it was awesome when it came out and they played it when it first came out? I think I understand now.
