You should see a fully upgraded computer with a printer,like 3 or 4 monitors,32gb iphone,a bunch of applications it is a full twenty three thousand pounds of course i doubt it would be very useful since most games aren't fully mac supported.

Just looks like a regular mouse to me. There's no buttons, but the functions are all exactly where they'd be on a normal mouse, plus a few other functions that I can perform with a scroll-wheel mouse.

Nothing really new, I don't see what the big deal is. Hipsters are going to love it.

i've generally been restricted to laptops, but i've used both windows and mac desktops and i think that's such an awesome idea. on my macbook, the touch functions on the touchpad are my favourite thing about it.

i voted for number one.

Me? I'd never buy it. Apple stuff is pretty, but that's it. For the price of a Macbook you can get a much better HP laptop. For the price of an iPod, you can get a Creative Zen (superior in every way except design).

I agree, I would never use something like this. When I buy a new mouse, I want it to have MORE buttons than my old one (which has 4 buttons and a clickable scroll wheel).
Plus it will be included in every Mac computer... I since aftermarket Mac mouse sales will skyrocket.

Mine has nine. (Plus scrolly wheel.)
I do love the volume control.

Edit:The mouse is smooth i would like to see it work though i want to know what they do with that stuff if it turns out to be decent well who knows.

The thing you don't mention is that that computer can function as a server for an entire network.

I think the mouse is kind of cool. It's hard to judge without using it though.

That actually looks more difficult and useless than a regular mouse. What's wrong with the way things are now? I mean, innovation is one thing, but they're using an innovative technology on so many things. It's just innovative the first time, not after you've forced it on to every appliance ever made.

I think the selling factor here is that you can use it like a touch pad on a computer. Does that justify the $70 price tag? No. But hey, everyone suffers the early adopters fee, no matter what the product!

It's really not that bad looking. If it was 30 bucks would I buy it? Possibly. If i needed to play a bunch of FPS' would I buy it? Doubtful. I own a MacBook Pro. I hate the iPhone, and the only reason I still have an iPod is because the damn thing won't die, even with dents in the back.

Apple does make good products. Are all of them awesome? Most definitely not. They do, however, make a solid OS, and all their products work well together. That's what most people want. Some are willing to pay a bit extra to get the peace of mind that your machine won't shut down when you plug in a printer, or that it will actually read your removable media (I'm looking at you Vista).

Don't hate the company guys, hate the individual products

I'm all for pushing boundaries and trying new things, but when I look at this mouse, I just have to ask "Why?" I mean, all they really did was put an iPod Touch into a mouse. They've a laptop touch-pad on the back of a typical mouse.

What I will give Apple is that they really know how to polish things, and I don't mean that literally (though they do make things shiny). Their products aren't all that innovative, and they're not even particularly unique (except maybe a few aspects of their interface designs), but they sell like hotcakes on account of the whole "Apple factor". No other computer company has created a subculture like Apple has, and I don't know if that's because of or in spite of them being a Johnny-come-lately when it comes to their products. They're not trailblazers by a long shot, but they sure do ride in style.

FYI, Apple has been making two-button mice for like 5 years.

On topic, how is this a bad idea? I have a new Macbook with the multi-touch touch pad, and the thing is freaking amazing. This is basically that, but in a mouse: moving the mouse around like normal, but having the multi-touch options of their extremely elegant and smooth trackpad.

And for the record, it does have a button. The thing is a freaking button: you can click anywhere on the surface.

Am I the only one who see this thread as yet more ignorant Mac-hate?
