Poll: Okay, so who joined this site because of Yahtzee?

I know I did.

The more time I spend on the site the more I like it's content and forums, but straight up, I wouldn't have ever cared had I not spent the past few years watching ZP.

Anyone else with me and want to show your love for the hard hearted British-born troll with taste and high standards?

Yea its why I originally joined, but after poking around for a while I love a lot of other things here. Pretty much just a lurker though.

I am a big ZP fan and do enjoy watching it, but he is not the reason I joined. Actually started on this site due to Unforgotten Realms. Finally made an account to join a group and do a few more things around the site.

Yes, I came here because of Yahtzee. Lurked for a good long while before I decided to become a member.

I joined for a wider variety of reasons, but ZP was one of them.

Free news about games, and Doralingus & associates were the other two main reasons if you wish to know.

I'm also of the group of people who were drawn to the site by Yahtzee, lurked on the forums, then joined a little later.

Glad I'm here, as I enjoy a large amount of the content produced by this site

I agree with all of you guys, there are a ton of great reasons to waste time on this site (ah Journalisim class), and the community is really chill. And actually as I was posting this I was thinking, oh I'm sure this has been up like 1000 times, but whatever, I WANT TO KNOW!!! =P

But I feel that the "Community" aspect is not really this site's strong point.
Let's face it, the Escapist's forum membership is MASSIVE. With in hours, topics plummet from the first pages of the forum section into obscurity. Hardly any one here, remembers other people's posts, or who posted them, in between topics.

Personally, and impersonally, I feel that this forum is too big.

It didn't join it because of Yahtzee. I was, however, exposed to the site because of his reviews. I just now noticed, in fact, that the bookmark I have for the Escapist site is the Zero Punctuation archive page... haha the Escapist HOME-PAGE is unfamiliar to me

I initially joined this site because my close friend introduced me to Yahtzee's videos. Which was a big enough hook to stay, in and of itself. He is clever and hilarious as hell. Since then though, Ive started watching other podcasts that were equally entertaining, as well as the REALLY fun forum/gaming community attached to it.

The Escapist has become my favorite site to visit. Period. It's just an amazing rich, fun and intellectual experience.

I got into the website based from the opinion of a chum of mine who was already into Zero Punctuation. I was quite content with a site like Games Radar, but ZP and the forum here is what made me stay.

Yeah, the badges are probably my favorite feature, they drive me to mess around on the site more.

I came to the site for Yahtzee but stayed for Moviebob. Then I discovered how awesome the forum is! The badges are a nice incentive but I suck at quizzes so I've only been getting the "You watched X of show Y" and, personality quiz badges.

Eeeyup. Saw some of Yahtzee's early Fullyramblomatic reviews on Youtube and started checking out The Escapist when he moved his series here and renamed it Zero Punctuation.

Still watch it weekly, but I totally got into a few of the other shows. I think overall my favourite thing on The Escapist has been Doraleous and Associates. Is that going to continue any time?
