I first found the Escapist because a friend sent me his Prototype/InFamous review and I kept coming back every week for like a year without registering. I finally made an account after exploring the site more and enjoying Extra Credits and MovieBob.

I joined because of yahtzee but after joining I started getting interested in things like unskipable and escape to the movies
Joined? No I did not join because of Yahtzee.
I CAME to the Escapist because someone linked a video of his to me, yes indeedy.
But I found myself interested in the topics on the Escapist and lurked nearly a year before joining... You didn't have to join to watch the videos so what was the point, and I didn't have anything to say up until then.

I originally came because of Unforgotten realms, but I clicked on a zp out of curiosity. So kindof. Those were the two big shows that kept me here.
Let me tell you a story of long ago, a time before I knew about the escapist they were dark times. I remember my favorite show at the time was X-play, it told me what I wanted to know and they reviewed games which I loved to watch. At one point they started playing censored clips of ZP near the end of the show. I was entranced by ZP but I never made the effort to go watch it here. That is until I played a game called Saints Row and it was a godsend game for me and became my favorite game at the time.
At the time X-play just gave GTA4 a perfect score even though I thought of it as an okay game, but then they reviewed Saints Row and Gave it a 2 out of 5! Their excuse was that it didn't have auto-aim and it wasn't as good as GTA. I then gave up completely on X-play because of that (Well that wasn't the sole reason they had begun to become worse in a lot of areas) I then checked out the escapist and was amazed by what I saw. About a year later I made an account and then here I am.

I followed ZP and Unskippable for a while but I joined the site because I wanted to comment on a "Top-5-with-Lisa-Foiles"-video and after that I looked more closely at the community.
In the beginning I watched only those ZP of games I know or was interested in. So no, I am not a big Yahtzee fan.

A friend at uni found out that I like animated internet comedy and video games, so he barged into my room one evening, put on an episode of zero punc and my productivity stopped shortly afterwards until I had watched the entire back catalogue.
I will say that I first found this site because of Yahtzee, but I joined because I wanted to be a part of the community. Yahtzee just helped seal the deal 
A friend of mine sent me a link to one of Yahtzees reviews once, and I enjoyed it, so I checked out what other reviews he had made and foudn them hilarious and informative. So for a long time I only visited the site to watch his videos. From time to time I would notice some of the threads with the newest posts, and one day I just felt like responding to one of them. So I created an account, and that's pretty much how I joined this site
