Exactly. That's why I vote we destroy it.

Jupiter. That giant storm that could that is so big, that it could swallow the earth just creeps me the heck out. It was too big for it's own good anyways. It was probably all smug about it to laughing to all the smaller planets. >:/

For reasons that do not matter, one of the planets in out solar system *one that is not earth* must be destroyed. And you decide which one.

And Pluto is in here just for fun.

And you don't have to worry about stuff flying around causing damage, THEY will deal with it.
It's Zombiejoe!

OT: Pluto ALWAYS counts as a planet. Screw what they say about that. It's a planetary body of significant size and gravity revolving around the flipping sun. It's textbook planet and I say it's gotta go, for the good of humanity. Why? Because the other ones going would either be {A} too hazardous to Earth personally once they do their thing (because of proximity) or {B} too disruptive to the dark matter field and general gravity force that holds the solar system together. The loss of a big one, or one in the wrong place, could disrupt the others and have them perhaps fly off later on. With the one on the end - also being very small - leaving, it's more than likely that life continues alright.

The gas giants are off-limits, as they protect us against asteroids and all that. Venus and Mars are possible expansion-sites once we figure out terraforming, and mercury is just a sad little world that is made mostly out of precious metal. Good for building space stations with.

So pluto it is.

Blow up Pluto, just to shut up people who still think it's a planet. Now it's DUST. Happy?
Works for me. And we basically break even on our total planet number, so it's pretty much a win win. :)

Blowing up anything in our solar system would possibly be the equivalent of loading up a giant shotgun and shooting it at the solar system. Bits would fly everywhere and there's no saying how safe Earth would be. Yeah, there's Jupiter and other gravitational sinkholes like it but that's still hundreds or thousands of bits flying at Earth. If nobody wants to nuke an asteroid because of the shotgun effect, think how bad it would be if we blew an entire planet up.

OT: Truth be told, I don't really want to choose one. I know too much about each of them. If I had to choose, something very close to the Sun so most of the bits would just fall into the Sun.

Saturn, I want to punch out the planet bit and leave the rings. Then it's like an intergalactic Frisbee.

I think Pluto. Pluto is sad because it has been defined as not a planet, so it being blown up will put it out of its misery. It really is for the best.

If we can count Pluto as a planet, then it would be possible to remove one of those nameless planets, right?

Just thinking outside of the box.

Uranus so that I don't have to hear jokes about it over, and over, and over again. Once in a while is fine but I swear everybody is a 10 year old kid in my class.

Pluto he's a dick though if we are counting dwarf planets i would go with either Ceres, Haumea, Makemake, or Eris or perhaps 2007 OR10, Sedna, Quaoar, or Orcus since nobody gives a shit about them :p

and to not do so would be increadibly insulting to the other would be planets!

OT: id get rid of Uranus so that joke will finally die.

If we destroyed Pluto, it might f with Neptune a bit, but since Neptune's mass is so much greater than Pluto's, I don't think it would throw things off a whole lot. So I go with Pluto.

Mercury or Pluto. They both seem rather dull and uninteresting; I wouldn't care if either of them buggered off.

Probably Pluto, I kinda like it but any other planet could have some pretty nasty consequences. I mean without Jupiter or Saturn there'd be several very large moons just wondering around the system (Plus I think the balance of gravity in the system would get weird without Jupiter there, at least I think it would), any of the inner planes would leave behind debris that could seriously fuck us up (just in case 'they' kinda suck at their jobs) and I think that Neptune and Uranus pretty. Pluto on the other hand, no worries about debris, there aren't really any moons to be left behind, and there are a few thousand rocks out there to take its place.
