I have only played Fallout 3 and Oblivion, and I recommend neither. Guess I'm not into western RPG's. I'm, however, getting Prototype, thanks to the combat system that everbody seems to like better than inFamous.

I would go for oblivion, but thats one of my favourite games ever. If you want RPG with guns go for Fallout 3

Fallout 3 if you are only getting one of them, all the other games just seem shallow when compared to Fallout, I have played it from the release, and am still not bored, and have not found all the things there are to be found.

I would recommend Prototype or Oblivion. I swear I'm the only person in the world who wasn't that interested by Fallout 3. I mean, it was ok, but the wastelands aren't the slightest bit interesting, compared to Oblivion's world, which is packed full of colour and wilderness, and is just a funner game in my opinion.

I was not at all interested in Fallout 3 after playing it for about an hour.

DON'T BUY FALLOUT 3!

sorry for caps

There's a GOTY coming for the PS3 in a few months, it'll cost around 50 - 60 euro's (or bucks, wherever you live) and you'll get ALL THE DLC with it, otherwise you'll have to buy it and you'll waste a LOT of money!

Of those 3 I'd say Oblivion, although that's because prototype has no lasting appeal and I can't imagine infamous being any different. The problem with both fallout3 and oblivion is most, if not all, of the appeal is in the mods. Surely there are other good console games that aren't PC ports in drag?

Depends on what you like. All of those games are great.

If you like mashing things up in various ways, buy InFamous.
If you like mashing things up to the extreme in even more various ways, at the expense of some other more "estethic" things, buy Prototype.
If you like RPG's, buy Oblivion. (Really, it's awesome.)
If you want a futuristic steampunk-ish experience with the ability to stop time, and you aren't a big fan of 1 and/or 2, buy Fallout 3.

This man speaks the truth, better wait for that one rather than buy it now. For now, get Oblivion, that'll last you the longest next to Fallout 3, but wait with Fallout a bit.

For me personal preferance screams OBLIVION because I get to be a lizard man and because I liked the atmosphere... I still haven't played enough of Fallout 3 yet.
Haven't played Infamous... never will most likely and have yet to play Prototype.

Sorry I wasn't really much help there, just rambling nonsensically.

Oblivion and Fallout 3 are the same game design except one takes place in a gorgeous woodland region with enough DLC to make the game last forever and the other takes place in a grey, ugly wasteland but also enough DLC to make the game last forever.

Seriously, google image the two games. One is gorgeous and will make you pause to appreciate scenery, the other will convince you that the lucky ones die in a nuclear apocalypse.

I'd say Fallout 3. It does take ages to finish it, has lots in it to do and is just outright fun. But then again, if you're really into fun go for inFamous / Prototype.

Oblivion if you like a medeval setting or Fallout 3 if you like post-apocalyptic stuff.
