No, because if I die, I'm not going to give away my organs so someone I don't even know can have them. Even if I did know them, I wouldn't give an organ, because I just want to have all my organs with me. The miracle of modern medicines can heal you, not a part of me.
You're dead. What are you gonna use them for?
The fact that they can use a part of you to save someone's life is a miracle of modern medicine.

Give larva and worms a new home. And I don't care if it is a miracle of modern medicine, make it like Repo Men.

I don't see why you'd rather waste your organs than help save someone's life. It makes no sense, and it's quite selfish.

And what's Repo Men? Are you talking about Repo! The Genetic Opera?

Yep. I plan to be a blood donor too.

While we're talking about it, sort of, does anyone know why gay people can't donate blood? And does anyone know if it applies to bisexual people?
Wait, what? What kind of backwards fascist hellhole do you live in?

On topic, I am indeed a donor, I have no use for my earthly remains when I've passed on and I'm a big fan of recycling
..*sigh* the UK. I only recently found out they can't donate blood myself.
That really doesn't make any sense. I mean, unless the doctors taking the donations are completely off their rockers, they screen the donators for any diseases transmitted through blood, right?
Or does the UK have some sort of russian-roulette style blood transfusion system?
I don't even know. I've been told that its because homosexual people apparently have more chance of contracting STDs just because they're homosexual, its probably some left over stigma from the days where homosexuality was criminalised and just either hasn't been changed or its trying to be justified by insane reasoning.

Although it could be because homosexuals are known to bleed acid.

I am, it's not like i can use my organs for anything when i'm dead anywyas. So it's pretty awesome if they can save someones life.

I also checked teh box that said OK for medical experiemtns.

As long as my body isn't used for munting i'm okay with it.

In the US you decide that when you get a driver license, its basically "check this box to be a donor". I decided yes, I won't be using them.

I'm an organ donor. I won't be using my organs anyway after I'm dead, so why not save some lives by giving them away?

The only reason I can think of is that you're more likely to transmit STDs through anal sex than through vaginal sex, but that's not even a very good reason. Just because the chance is slightly higher doesn't mean that homosexuals are 100% sure to have some kind of STD, and it's not like heterosexuals can't have anal sex...

So yeah, it's probably just an old law from the time homosexuals were considered scary deviants, that noone has changed yet. There are a lot of strange laws that make no sense in today's world and that only exist because noone has bothered to change them.

I would love to do that, but I feel like my parents would kill me if they found out. Like I am an adult and all (kinda anyways, I'm 19), but that wouldn't stop my dad running after me with a cheese-grater if i got a tattoo. sorry...rambling. Anyways, I said no in the poll, but i would become one if i could

In the UK, you have to be 12 to legally declare yourself as an organ donor.
In that case, I shall now become one.
I commend you for that decision. well done :)

Who cares what your parents say? It's your body therefore what happens to you when you die is up to you. I'm almost 100% sure that if you were in a state which meant you needed a transplant from a donor, your parents would accept it. Your life being saved depended on the death of another. If your parents would accept a donor's organ to save your life, they cannot condemn you for wanting to be the donor that saves several other peoples lives.

Hell yeah I'm an organ donor. I see no logic in letting good, healthy organs rot away in a grave when they could save lives.

I would rather someone use my bones, organs, skin, eyes and brain rather then just becoming more mess in a wooden box underground.

Plus it's much cheaper for a funeral if you have very little left of you
I commend you for your decision to donate, however, organ and/or tissue donation, do not affect the cost of funerals in any way.
If I donate my skeleton, organs, skin and blood I'm sure I will be a lot less and that means less land space
At least I hope it does...

[sub]search bar approved. all i could find was something about what you want to happen to your corpse when you die.[/sub]

A few weeks ago, while walking around Glasgow, I was wandering through the train station when I nearly tripped over a small woman carrying a clipboard. She thrust it up towards my face, saying "Would you like to become an organ donor?!". That's exactly what I did. I filled out her little form and bam, within 30 seconds I had signed my organs away to be fired into someone else should I die. That's a very blunt way of putting it but it's essentially true. Because of my age, she told me to make sure that my immediate family were aware of this fact. When I told my mum and step-dad, there was a contrast in opinions on the subject.

The questions I pose to you are:
Are you an organ donor?
If so, why? If not, why not?
If you want to be an organ donor, why aren't you one already?
No, i am not an organ donor, and do not intend to be one.
Reason you say? I'll make it simple....I care more about my organs than the lives of most humans on this planet (and i'm 15 and technically 15 and thus illegal to do so).
The reason people give their organs is either for
1. They hate their organs
2. They do it for money
3. For a loved one
4. They are delusional about something
That is the only reason i came up with so.......yeah.
Also....WHY did you sign the Form??
But what use are your organs to you if you're rotting in the ground?
Why not give them to someone that needs them?
Well it seriously depends on the circumstances does it not?
If i died in a glorious gun battle against aliens then....i don't think they'll want it.
If it was for a loved one then yeah why not!
Also i was talking about if i was still alive. and i intend to either die of old age and/or in a glorious gun battle against or with Gordon Freeman. Thus making that line of conversation moot.
Congratulations, you're an A+ Certified Dipshit.

They won't take your organs until you're dead, man, you have to actually schedule yourself in to have 'em taken out while you're still kicking.

Anyway... yes, I'm a donor. The problem with New Zealand is this - when a person dies, of anything, it's treated as a homicide until proven otherwise. That means by the time a corpse is ready for harvestin', the organs are no good.

Generally your shit only gets cut out if you're on life support and the plug is pulled in the presence of the motherfucking Police and Chief of Staff. Even then it's not up to you - it's up to the grieving family.

Result: the waiting list for hearts, livers and lungs is thousands of years long.

i reserve them for my family, i feel no need to give it to someone i don't care about.

but that's just me, i'm sorry for my opinion but that's just how i feel about it.
