Same as towards Steam. I do not like it but that's something i have to adapt to in order to play games. Whenever i can i buy retail anyway because it's cheaper in my country. I'd prefer if games wouldn't use any form of 3rd party software to launch, but we're way past that stage sadly.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
I would have voted for "I would because of bf3" but with the whole, launching the game from a web browser thing, Im gonna just pass on it

People will download Steam because it is a good service, and want to use it.

People will download Origin because it was needed for Battlefield 3.

I think that says it all.

i don't like origin because i like sucking steam's dick er i mean I really like steam's service.

But seriously, not intending to purchase anything on origin, no "killer apps" for me yet.

It's completely useless, nobody will take it seriously. It will just be a frantic rush to get past it and get onto the game. Nobody will pay any attention to how 'genius' it might be. They will just try their hardest to get past it and play the game.

To be honest, I would expect people to crack it. Because it sounds like it's going to be quite annoying.

I don't buy digital copies(not lazy or dumb enough). But if there were no more shops in the world and the only way to buy games was digital distribution I'd have no problems using Steam,Origin,Windows Marketplace all together since I don't have a shitty PC that can'0t run 2 programs at once. I really don't see why would I choose one over another if not by the games they are offering and the prices.

On a side note I wanted to try Age of Empires Online(really good actually or atleast not that bad)and I had to install Winlows live/marketplace etc all that package. Thing is I don't even have to launch it to play the game or sign in since it logs automatically when I launch the game. And people were talking as this was the worse of the bundle.

Ya and if you buy EA games for the PC in a physical store you'll still get to enjoy signing up for Origin I know. Shocking.

Hey, if anyone owns DA, they probably remember the hoops one had to jump through to register the damn thing so you could download the DLC. If using Origin means I don't have to run through those horrible hoops again, I'll use it with a grin on my face.

I'm the same as you Duff, but EA will probably make you download Origin to confirm your copy is legit. Kinda like a less intrusive copyright protection.
I dunno if they plan on nixing Bioware's Social site, if they do it won't be easy. All my DLC is purchased from there. I doubt we can expect future DLC through there but that's still annoying. I hate having six different site logins games.
your "origin" account is linked/upgrade version of your bioware account, so all your dlc and stuff is tied to your origin account once you upgrade your "bioware" account

Seems like this thread has been revived.

I'm not informed enough to form a secure opinion, but I think it's cheap of EA to not put their games on Steam.

Plus, I'm not a pure PC gamer. So I guess my opinion doesn't count.

I use steam bc it has half life 2 and civ 5 but hate the service. I might hate it a little less once I get my own house with decent internet soon but for now it's a piece of garbage which forces me to log on every time making sure everyone knows what kind of games I play so they can use that data in one form or another.
As far as origins in my opinion it's a steam knockoff which until it has a game I like wont even think of using it. Once it does I might consider it same way with steam games today. Is it on steam I think do I really really really like the game if I might buy it if not I most certainly won't no try out's as long as steam is needed.
Also I'm missing the option for not trying origins bc it doesn't have a decent game on it right now. Does the OP think everyone likes BF3?

Not all of us have the luck to live in a country where CD Projekt is the largest distributor. :(

Very much this. I don't give a flying fuck about all the 'extras' like friend lists and achievements or whatever these 3rd party programs offer. To me they're just an extra layer between me and my fun. I don't like things getting between me and my fun.

I hated the EA download manager, so I'm not really expecting great things from Origin. The screenies posted look promising, but I'd rather not having my games spread out between a variety of different services. I'll give it a chance if it's the only way to activate/play Mass Effect 3, but I'd always prefer to have it on Steam.

Indifferent mostly. It doesn't strike me as something meant to compete with Steam, but more as a glorified version of the EA Download Manager. I can't really think of any EA games I am looking forward either, so I doubt I'll ever have to use it.
