The only thing consoles have over pc is the local multi player and for whatever fucking reason that's disappearing.

The only reason i don't play a lot of PC games is because i don't have enough money to be constantly upgrading my PC to keep up with the demand of current games
You really don't have to. I upgrade my computer maybe once every three or four years and said upgrade costs me ~200 dollars. Now, you won't be playing every game on max settings doing that but I have yet to play a game that won't run acceptably.

This, however, assumes you have the ability (IE you are not a paraplegic) to do part replacement yourself. This can be intimidating at first if you have never worked with a computer before but its a lot easier than most people seem to think it is.

It only gets expensive when you buy completely new systems every couple years that you do not build yourself.

Pigalito : You may want to reconsider that. A lot of games have internet downloads these days.
Oh no no no, you're not starting the "PC gaiming isn't that expensive" debate. Just...let others belive the "myth" of Pc gaming, kay?

I personally like FPS and RTS more on the PC and just about everything else more on the 360. Of course right now is an exception- Due to my computer being an out of time piece of crap that cannot run any game with better graphic qualities then Counter Strike: Source on low..

well, since 90% of my life i've been stuck with a shit computer, i never really got into PC gaming until about 3 years ago, now, i see what all the fuzz is about, cause with PC games, you have endless possibilities, with consoles, most of the time you are fairly limited. I like all the mods and stuff, but prefer console gaming because it has a nice, crisp feeling to it that most PC games don't have, you will always have the odd lag, error messages and other weird crap happen to you in PC games that don't really happen in console games, still, PC gaming is definitely not dead, so, enjoy it while you can.

well they don't outrun each other these days.. I still remember when the first 3DFX card came out... all was so much better than the playstation and for years pc gamers had the best graphics around.
I, for personal reasons,am not very fond of sony. I still like the games coming out for their consoles but I get cramped fingers after 5 min playing on the damn things, so it's not fun at all. and that's what games are supposed to be.
but in this day and age fewer exclusive titles seem to be released.
so the line between having a console or a pc is very thin.
but apart from the releases for the system I think the pc is by far the best system.
you can hook it up to almost any TV screen, You can plug in a gamepad or just play with mouse+keyboard or a steering wheel or whatever. And besides the gaming capability it can do so much more than a console.
And with more and more console-ish games finding their way to the pc so I'm good.
My real love for consoles lies with the old ones, the cartridge based consoles.
but in the end I just love games and I can apriciate them on any console (only if they have decent gamepads)

PC would be better if there wasn't that serial code crap and system requirements.
Are you missing a hand or some fingers?
No I'm missing the maunal for some old games that I want to play again and I'm missing a PCI-e slot for a decent graphics card.

You can still get AGP slot cards, not many but you can get them online. You can now get a Radeon 3850 512MB AGP for about $140.
I also have a slim PC. Best I could get was a 256mb 6200.And that doesn't solve my manual problem.

From time to time I wonder if my love of PC games isn't evidence that I'm some sort of crusty old bastard, sitting on the front porch in my longjohns and yelling incoherently at the console-playing kids to get off my lawn.

But the solid PC-preferring majority I see in the poll makes me feel a little better. We may be crusty and incoherent, but at least there's plenty of us left.

Jazzyluv lists most of my reasons. How the hell do you damn youngsters put up with those stupid gamepads? I'm going to go sit on my porch some more.

How do people loose manuals? Get yourself organised! I have hundreds of games and i've only lost one manual in all these years. Ouch a slim PC, thats a kick in the balls. Thats why i never buy pre-builds anymore.
Well I don't exactly Play PC games so they don't get treated well. I lost my DS for 2 years organizations is as overrated as the iPhone.

I cant realy vote here..... I like computer games but i run on a single core system with 500 ram so it kinda limits it for me.

I have a 360 and when i can afford a game its usealy for it. (yeayeah im a PCpitate but whe are accepted nowdays right?)I have to vote console because of the limitations on my struggeling computer that begs me to end its eternal torment. ^^
Its a shame you can't milk more out of your system, a single core up to 2.0HGz and 500MB+ of RAM will allow you to play most Source Engine games with the HDR effects turned off/down. You've got a lot of power there that is waiting to be unlocked, I've played HL2 on a GeForce 6600 at high quality, it was great.

I've just done the transition from console to PC after being burned by my PS3 and what with all the multiplatform (PC release) games. I do get the feeling that the PC crowd is different from the console crowd like the hotrod crowd is different from the, err, regular car racing type... you know who just buy cars from the dealer.

Anyway, the hotroders and PC gamers have to know their machines so well as they fit components together (inevitably giving them insane paint jobs) in weird and crazy ways to give incredible performance though sporadic and inefficient. Meanwhile the console/joy-riders stick with their Subaru/Xbox 360 and 911/PS3 as they argue endlessly over which is the superior machine nitpicking over small details and endless races and side-by-side comparisons, till the big powerful companies release a new model.

Of course the hotroder's don't race with the joyriders, partly because they think that they are better and partly because as they are taking their rig to the event it catches fire. Plus the consolers are afraid coz while they can talk smack, they know the PC guys could hax their laptop internet browser "OMG, Delete History DELETE HISTORY, Oh NOEZ!!!"

EDIT: I completely overestimated the specs needed for HL2 and Source Engine 2GHz or 1.5GHz dual-core is enough, it really is a wonderful engine as it's decent on the lowest systems and amazing on the highest.

I PC game quite often, mostly for the quality Role Playing games, First Person Shooters and Point and Click Adventure games. The reason I don't game all that often on PCs is because it's quite uncomfortable for me, the seating and position just don't work for me. On the other hand Horror games work exceptionally well because you feel uncomfortable with the imaginary and your seating arrangement. That's how I feel about it anyway.

When there is a game worth playing on the PC I buy it and check it out, it's just another platform for me. Not a whole different world.
