Ok, i know this thread might get me banned, but its something thats been on my mind for a while. I know that over the course of history, people have become more accepting of different things like homosexuality. Ive been wondering: will pedophilia ever be accepted as something that isnt something to be ashamed of? Is it still wrong?

I don't think it will ever be accepted, and if it is, I will finally turn in my Hope For Humanity badge. There's a big difference between being attracted to the same gender, and being attracted to a child.

I think it's wrong and I hope it'll never be accepted. Things change, perspectives change so anything is possible in that regard for the future.

It wasn't always as taboo as we have it now. In ancient Rome for example it wasn't looked down upon, just like homosexuality and some leaders had young boy lovers.

Anyway, soon people'll start raging and we'll get atleast 1 "Pedobear Approval" post.

Until children can magically understand all that is happening and consent, I doubt. It's exploitation at it's lowest and it will never be lawful, morally or legally.

I don't believe that young children are really capable of feeling a love for someone other than in the 'parent-child' way. When the feeling isn't mutual it isn't right.

I don't think so, as homosexuality conjures thoughts of two consenting men/women, whereas pedophilia brings to mind an adult taking advantage of an innocent child. It was mentioned in another thread that a reason for child death being grieved more is because of the natural instinct to protect children, and for me, pedophilia seems to incite that instinct as pedophiles come off as predators.

It depends on the age. I mean, if one partner is 16 and the other is like 20, would that be considered paedophilia? (The legal age for intercourse here is 16, but I know it's different elsewhere.)
I will say though, if the kid is under 15, they shouldn't be doing anything like that. That's just not right. I don't think it's the kind of thing that would be accepted into any society I'd want to live in.

There's no such thing as consensual sex with a child, no matter what anyone says. Therefore, it will most likely never be socially acceptable.

Children are usually not mentally developed enough to understand the impact of sex on their future so its better to protect them. Pedophilia can mentally and physically endanger a child so its wrong in every way. Some children may have matured at a much younger age but the odds are the child doesn't understand so better safe than sorry.
