Got a couple close friends. But not many seem to give a shit, not for lack of trying mind you.
That'l go away eventually.
I dont believe anybody truly wants to be a loner.

I'm not a loner, I have plenty of friends, just like a lot of people on this site. I don't know why people assume videogames = no friends.

I'm naturally reclusive. I tend to want to spend the majority of my time reading, playing on my PC (not a big social gaming platform excluding meh-mor-puh-guhs) and...well I used to build stuff with Legos and/or Mega Blocks a lot. I never had enough but I made do. I do stumble out of the cave into the blinding light every once in a while though. Actually I'm usually being dragged out by the collar by my friends but I don't put up that much of a fight and usually end up enjoying myself so I have no stigma against socializing. Like I said I'm a loner by nature not really by choice.

I find human company annoying, and I have very few friends which I see rarely, plus never been in a relationship so yes, I am a loner.

Depends on how you view things.

I like being on my own, for the most part but I have a lot of friends that I hang out with on a regular basis.

I'm probably happiest when I'm with my girlfriend, but I do most times prefer playing on the PS3 with myself to going out with my friends (I'd drop everything to see my girlfriend though) so I am kind of a loner but I do have a great relationship with my girlfriend.

I have many friends and I enjoy their company... mostly. Other than petty arguments I have to deal with on a daily basis, we all get along very well. So no, I'm not a loner, I'm rarely home, as you can see from my oh-so-high post count :p

I wouldn't necessarily label myself as a loner. Granted, sometimes I like having some alone time every once in a while. You know, just days where I want to be left alone. At the same time though, I have people who I can honestly say are my friends. People who care about me as much as I care about them. But, for me it's hard to make friends, especially since I moved to Costa Rica. Almost all of the friends I've made here only feel like casual acquaintances. Heck, I've never even had a girlfriend. Did I choose to be like this? Not at all.

I don't mind socialising per se, its just that people are idiots and piss me off. I blame society.

Oh and btw, when you reach adulthood you slowly discover that there are three kinds of people:

1. Loners.
2. The lonely.
3. Idiots.

Make your choice. I chose option number one. About 45% of people choose option 2 and another 45% choose option number 3. But of course that is a lie, most of the time the option picks you.

Become a loner. Join us, but stay separate from us on a personal level. It is the only logical choice to be a loner. You can't fight it. It is your fate, the fate of all of us non-idiots. Accept it. You are too smart to win and too desperate to lose. There is no future but that which we accept in our minds.

I'm ..trying? I don't have much success since I'm pretty much afraid of everyone. I'm really meek in public, which is the total opposite of what I'm actually like with my family. So, in social situations I tend to be quiet because I'm often fighting the urge to say something crude or retarded, that would alienate me further.

No, I don't think that people here are loners. Are there some, of course.

People who feel jaded, responding in threads of a certain topic that piques their interest, or pushes their emotional buttons doesn't mean there are a disproportionate number of loners here. In all likelihood it shows the type of people who respond to relationship threads on the internet fall into that loner category, hence skewing a trend.

Wait wait wait wait!

I am a bit of a loner and try not to be BUT I am in a stable relationship. Make sense of that!

In all seriousness I don't think I fit into your poll, I mean I have a girlfriend and good relationships with my friends but, well its complicated I will try and explain if anyone is interested but I don't fancy filling this thread with my life story.
