Online games don't really interest me - I tend to get bored in them pretty easily. I usually try to stick around until the end of the round, but if anything at all comes up I'm out of there.

I won't quit because we're losing. I'll totally quit if someone is team-killing, though. If I'm constantly dying, I'll usually wait until the end of the round.

Screw that, I'm not dying 20 times.

Yes, I'm a guy who leaves mid-game if I have died the last subsequent rounds/matches/whatever it's called in the game.

Why?

I play games for fun, and if I die without a fighting chance, it's not fun. I don't mind losing if I have a fighting chance (or, paradoxal enough, still manage to kill other people), but I do mind losing if I don't stand a chance in the first place.

My team be damned in that case. It's not like they would have a chance of winning. In fact, auto-balancing might just make the team stronger. So my leave would strengthen the team's future chances of winning.

Ha!

Only time people jumping ship is annoying is in MMORPGs. If you aren't sure you can finish the instance, then don't join the party. It's just common courtesy.

I've always thought it was pretty normal in online shooters, though. In TF2 I can understand leaving because of getting destroyed over and over. Thankfully the server I always play on implemented a team scrambler vote option to keep teams balanced off.
Most servers though, your only option is to just quit. It's not fun when the other team is stacked to hell and back and you're stuck with all the players that just got the game yesterday and don't seem to understand why they're losing on offense in goldrush. Cause, yanno, a team of all engineers must be the greatest thing ever right?

I am in agreement with many of you, rage quits or "I am losing so I quit" is rather shallow.

But as many have pointed out there are many valid reasons for departing a game early.

There is nothing worse than being in a team full of rambos or non team players, or for that matter someone on your team screaming crap down the VON supported by said game.
