To me? No. For two reasons:

1: Grave yards are creepy as all heck.

2: Your eating on top of Corpses. That's highly disrespectful not only for the resting dead, but also for those who had to buy the Coffins, as well as the church that wishes the area remain peaceful and undisturbed (Unless it's one of those graves not affiliated with a church).

You wanna do it? Fine, go ahead. I am just saying it's not the right or nice thing to do.
I don't eat on the graves, I find a spot under a tree that has no graves. I'am very respectful of the dead, and yes I do take a blanket, but only sometimes. And I'm not cherpy and yelling out to people. I'm quiet and respectful.
Still, It's a grave. It's a place to mourn and respect the dead. Not a place to have a picnic. Even if you are quiet and respectful, it just doesn't feel right to eat in an area where those who died rest.

If you find the living a bore
There's a place you can go
Answer the call, go over the wall
Where the crosses are all in a row
Mind the trees, get down on your knees
Sneak in just like the breeze
Look around, though you won't be found
It's just you, Edgar Allen and me

Though to be honest, it does seem a bit odd unless you have a reason for going to that graveyard. They are usually a place to respect the dead, not to relax. Don't you have a quiet park for that sort of thing?
I have no quiet park. I live in Australia where are parks are full of drunks and broken glass. The graveyard is thhe last place where it's quiet and theres no broken glass or rubbish.

Graveyards aren't that creepy. My local one is situated amidst rolling green hills and has a few horses living next to it.

Also, you're eating about 6 feet above dead people. Not like they'd care anyway, being dead and all.

I also think it has a lot to do with your local culture...here in this end of Canada, its not exactly common, but people do take some quiet time in graveyards.

If you're just going there to get some peace and happen to have food with you I think it's fine. But if you're having a bunch of people all hanging out laughing and stuff I think it's disrespectful.

I would say as long as you won't be sitting on top of someone's remains. There are areas that havent been used yet, but if you are talking about sitting between headstones it can be kind of rude. I love to go through the cemetary on my jogging route, but I only stick to the paved paths and never go through the grass area. They are peaceful areas and maybe I'm a bit weird, but I feel it's humbling to be reminded of our short time here.

I sould say that they are always solo picnics. I don't know alot of people and even if I did,I would not invite them.

As long as you're not littering, I can't see anything objectionable about it. Graveyards are usually nice and peaceful. Probably not the best idea to do it when there is a lot of traffic passing through.
My towns graveyard is empty. No one gose there and the graves are falling apart. So I think that the dead people would be happy to have some company.

That's a nice way of looking at it, regardless of your beliefs about life after death. Dilapidated graveyards are nice. Except when it floods and the coffins get kind of uncovered [true story, although I was not there to witness this macabre event].

That sounds fun. Now I almost wish there was a graveyard close to me so I could do that. I don't think it's disrespectful or creepy at all.

Those that think the dead care should remember the qualifications for being buried in a graveyard. THEY ARE DEAD!! Dead things don't care what you do with them, since they are dead.
Which translates to: I see no problem with it.

I really doubt there will be a table on top of a grave.

As long as you don't mess with anything or anyone, then I have no problem with it. And if the place is in disrepair, then maybe try volunteering to clean and fix the place up.

I'd get a little upset if you weren't respectful about it, but other than that, I think it's okay. It's just not something I want to see turn into a trend.

Only if there is a low fog at night on a full moon. At that point maybe the ghosts will share a toast with you.

You are really going to have to explain why it is disrespectful. I doubt op is going "O man this food is so good. Too bad you can't have any. Because you are dead!"

This basically eating on top of rotting corpses isn't exactly the most appealing thing to me.

I have no problem with it. However you might piss off the undead. So don't come running to me when you got a whole horde of flesh eating zombies on your tail, because I won't help... nah what the heck, I will :)
