Thats perfectly fine.. maybe. Depends on why you go? I know there are some parks which are both park/graveyard and I always see people playing with their dogs there.

I've worked as a guide at a church, and people were often coming by to sit down and spend time with their dead relatives over lunch.

Seems completely fine to me.
Just, y'know. Stay respectful. Don't go throwing around trash, leaving graffiti or chanting American Indian curses.

I used to take my girl to the graveyard to make out.

Picnics sound fine. I'm sure some people visit their dead relatives and take a picnic.

She didn't happen to live in the south-east of England did she?

I dont htink so. I mean, its not like your kicking markers over and digging up bodies. As long as you clean up after and dont leave food around, I dont see why you couldnt do that. Its where I would go to have quiet.

I think its ok, I too enjoy the pieceful and calm ambient, although I wouldnt eat there.
so its up to you, if you really enjoy it its ok. but it really might offend others,on the other hand, so...
maybe you should stick to simple idleness.
btw, you dont really disturb the piece of the dead, in my oppinion. maybe they even enjoy the not so melancholic company, thats all XD

This may sound odd at first, but somtimes I go to my towns graveyard. It's peaceful and quiet and it gives me time to think. And sometimes I take a snack or even a full lunch and have a picnic. But people tell me that I sould stop because it might upset someone. I have not got one complaint and there are no laws againts it, so why sould I stop. Tell what you think, is what I'am doing wrong?
maybe they'd tell you different if you weren't wearing all that black...

To me? No. For two reasons:

1: Grave yards are creepy as all heck.

2: Your eating on top of Corpses. That's highly disrespectful not only for the resting dead, but also for those who had to buy the Coffins, as well as the church that wishes the area remain peaceful and undisturbed (Unless it's one of those graves not affiliated with a church).

You wanna do it? Fine, go ahead. I am just saying it's not the right or nice thing to do.
I don't eat on the graves, I find a spot under a tree that has no graves. I'am very respectful of the dead, and yes I do take a blanket, but only sometimes. And I'm not cherpy and yelling out to people. I'm quiet and respectful.
you made it sound like you were eating on top of a grave...that sounds ok. as long as your not disturbing anyone really

Standard response. Makes you look emo/goth/reject for picnicking in a graveyard anyway. Other than that, the families of the dead you're eating around may take offence to their resting place being invaded by a random picnicker.

I couldn't imagine wanting to do it, but then maybe you have nicer more park-like graves than I do in my local area.
