OK so I would like to know the Escapist opinion about body piercing.
If you like it, ever thought of having on and so on.

I would never do one, because I don't think it would look good, but I actually like to see them on other people.
My sis has a her ear completely pierced and I think it looks awesome. I have a friend that is heavy into piercing, tattoos, scarification and such. and the things he did look really good.

But then I see those girls with their lips pierced, with really small black or white piercings and those just look like a freaking pimple.

That's my opinion and so I would like to know yours.

Thinking of getting pierced when I lose 20kilos (which I'm currently working on) kind of as a reward/reminder to keep it off. Left nipple, as I feel uncomfortable with taking of my shirt atm.

I consider piercings, tattoos and scarification to be artforms in their own rights. In fact I'd like to be a body mod artist at some point. I think it'd be fun.

For myself, I have 7 piercings, all in my ears. I plan on getting a lot more in the near future, first up is a nose-stud.

Out of curiosity, those who object to piercings, what do you find so repulsive about them?

I love them.

I have 10 total. Two holes in each ear lobe. A four-hole spiraling industrial in my right ear (one ring that spirals through four holes in my ear), a nose stud, and belly button. I'm probably going to be getting a 20g tiny labret on the side of my lip soon-ish too.

I'm a girl and I've got two piercings in my bottom lip, 2 in each ear, and two tattoos (mario mushrooms on my hips ;]) and I love them all, like I'm so glad I got them. I think my parents disapprove slightly, but only because I'll always have the scars from my lip piercings, and my tattoos will ALWAYS be there.

I always believed that a piercing should both look attractive and stimulate. Myself and my ex fiancee decided to both get engagement piercings in rather intimate places. I don't regret it and it didnt hurt roo much. More the needle sliding through muscle than the piercing of the skin. What did hurt though was being told we couldn't have sex for three months straight after.

Ouch!

not really into piercing for my self but I like the pierced look on girls
This is the same as my mindset. They've never appealed to me, I will never have one. But think they look fine on women.

I am tattooed though!

I don't mine ear piercings, but the rest generally makes me a tad squeamish.

Example(Don't look if you are offended by piercings):

Its like a revival of Aztec culture, all of the face piercings, I wonder when neck rings and 'lip bowls' will come into fashion in the western world :p. Mind you i have seen youths with those big african saucers in there ears now, and they clearly werent african.

I don't mind seeing them on other people (to an extent, some people have WAY to many).
Personally I wouldn't want a piercing or a tatoo for that matter, bodies change over time, that sexy little dragon your left buttcheek might grow to the size of hippo at some point in your life.

That was slightly off topic, back to piercings...alright on other people, just don't go overboard, the odd one can be cute / looks cool, having a face full of metal is just not attractive.

That. I like one or two but some people go a bit too far (for me that is). Same with tatoos, specially stupid ones.
