The only pandemic in this is the News. They are going to create panic and thus everyone will try and get their dirty fingers on anti-biotics, thus creating a strain that CAN fuck shit up. As of this morning there have been just over 160 deaths with reported cases of swine flu in Mexico.

If you read into it a little more, what news companies fail to mention is that so far only 7 cases were actually confirmed as swine flu.

And thats out of a population of what? At a conservative guess..... 10million? People need to bear this in mind before they start proclaiming that the end of the world is nigh!

There is no reason as yet to worry about swine flu any more than a runny nose.

Firstly, it didnt end the first world war, secondly that was in 1918 mate, you can't really equate the medical technology in 1918 to todays medical technology as the advances we have made in vaccination and virus research are leaps and bounds above what was available then.

I have very serious doubts that this will turn into an epidemic of that scale

As far as the Swine Flu "pandemic" goes...it has not reached this state thus far but I am a little worried about the kids getting it...one of my friends sons is only 7 and a little guy like that can't fight it off so easily.

In this country it only REALLY poses a threat to the Elderly and Children, teens and adults so much....no.
