Yarr, I am. So there is actually a pirate bar here then? I've just heard people talking about one whilst I've been drunk so I'm hazy on details. Where abouts are you and have you been there?

Edit: Just read your other post. Awesome that it actually gets people in there, I'll have to drag a few in this weekend.
I'm located in Bridport, I just spend the majority of my time in Weymouth for college and social reasons.

Well I haven't personally been in there, been past it enough and I've seen a fair few people in there, so I'm assuming that it gets quite a decent bit of business, now, if only we could open a Ninja Bar.

Oooh the rivalry.

Wenches???

I'm on board!!! (Pun definitely intended)

But seriously, I'd love to go to a pub like that...

First off, Fire is a BIG issue, You dont want everything going up in smoke.
Is that your advice for everything in general, or is there something I'm missing where because it's a boat it's more of a fire hazard?
Galleons tend to made from wood...

Most pubs around me are pretty much wood, pillars/bars/floors, wouldn't see it as much of a difference.

But the concrete foundations & pillars that make up the structure is exactly[/I] the same as the concrete floor & pillars of that of a galleon...right?

Its just, if there was a fire in the bar it'd burn down, if there was a fire on a ship made of wood it could SINK...

And would create one of my favourite times of being in a pub, that would make for the best last orders ever.

Definitely sounds awesome.
Though I gotta say my stomach is the weakest organ you'll ever see. I know it's not going to be moving, but even a light wind will cause my sea-sickness to kick in and i'll barf all over your nice new pub.

That said I barf most nights I go to bars.

"LAST ORDERS, WE'RE SINKING!" ...As cool as that does sound, With all the fire around your beer would be warm.

Excellent idea for a business. :) If I were you, I would spend lots of time trying to find the right ship...don't just blow big money on the first good one you find. If you can find an older one that needs some work, and use loan money to fix it up instead, you might save a lot. Definitely consider looking outside the country as well.

Also: Location is key. A pirate pub would probably do rather poorly on the New Hampshire coastline (yes, it exists. All 13 miles of it). But just outside a residential area next to a major city of some sort...especially if it has a fun reputation and/or a large shipping community, you're golden. PROBABLY California...but could also do as well in Boston or Florida or...what else? Large lakes are always a possibility too, if a bit more silly.

I'd definitely go if one opened up around here.

In Oblivion....

A real one would be cool though. But expensive. Very Expensive.
That's pretty much what gave me the idea, man!

I'm gonna try'n get a custom one built, 'cos then it'd really be mine, and I'd probably spend the rest of my life on it... But THIS -

is the closest thing to perfection I've ever seen...
As for the location, that'd have to be on the Marina of my hometown, Brighton, England. Anyone who lives/has been there will know that my moneymaking potential is... Alot. Big fuckin' party town, man.
